  | Thanks very much Hyperion for a very welcome surprise
It took me a while to realise that Moovid was in c: - I was expecting it to be in Utilities or Tools :oops
  A couple of questions:
  1. The update has in fact installed Kernel 51.20, but Workbench-->About shows Kickstart version 51.19 (I have rebooted). Am I confusing different OS components?
  2. The readme states that the new Loader is 51.6, but mine is still 51.5? |

The update does contain mass storage support. _________________ Thomas, the kernel guy

The workbench titlebar lists the revision of exec.library. This is different from the kernel version. The kernel is just a file combining exec.library, utility.library and expansion.library. Each library has it's own version number, and the kernel has it's own that more or less reflects the "assembled" stuff in the kernel...

It should be 51.5. The 51.6 is a typo... sorry for the confusion. _________________ Thomas, the kernel guy

Yeah, you need to have the first update installed in order to use this one.

  | Gret news! I can't wait to get the USB mass storage working.
But.....I am unalbe to access the updates on Hyperions site because my uA1 came with an unnofficial OS4.0 update1 CD (received from Software Hut) and I have not serial number to register with.
Software Hut says they will have offical CD's in a week or two. Does anyone know if these will include update2? Hyperion?
Is there a way I can get registered so I can download the update? _________________ Kevin - X1000 First Contact / A1222+

The CD's should be on their way in the meantime.

No, I'm afraid that you absolutely need a serial number. _________________ Seriously, if you want to contact me do not bother sending me a PM here. Write me a mail

  | Just installed Update 2 and I am having real problems access CDRW now. Everything was working fine before, but now if I insert a CDRW disc, I get an Audio CD icon appear with a 9.7GB capacity and a Grim Reaper.
I manage to write a crashlog but then my system hangs completely. Luckily I was running IBrowse the last time and managed to load the log into that and do a copy and paste job here!! Chopped the bottom bit off, hopefully the important bit is below. Is anyone having similar problems??
Crash log for task "CDRW" Generated by GrimReaper 51.4 Crash occured in module SmartFilesystem at address 0x01465FD4 Type of crash: DSI exception

If it's any use to anyone, the CDRW works fine with unformatted cds, but again the GR appears as soon as the format completes. Again, it displays an icon for an Audio CD (Called A6 in Info in Shell if i remember correctly) and then I am back to a 'hung' system. Last edited by mtreasure on 27-Dec-2004 at 11:08 PM.

  | If it is indeed one of the new CD's, the serial number should be on the inside of the sleeve, right above the installation instructions.
If that's not the case, contact your dealer. _________________
