Amigaworld.net News   Amigaworld.net News : Happy New Year from Amigaworld.net
posted by DaveyD on 1-Jan-2005 0:03:36 (5286 reads)
Happy New Year from the Amigaworld.net Team and Welcome to the new-look for 2005

2004 was a good year for Amigaworld.net, at the start of the year we were getting around 250,000 pageviews per month, today we get over 1.2 million pageviews per month.

Thank you for all your support

Note: The new layout is a 'Work In Progress', some areas of the site will look bland until the new theme is integrated into them.

Looks nice, especially the top-logo with the club-logo in it.

But my first impression of the site in a whole was that
it looks a bit like a suse linux site with all that green.

Happy 2005!

Love the new look... although not entirely sure about the green at the moment, but give it time

Here's to a successful 2005 for AmigaWorld.net and the Amiga community!!

I would write somthing about the new design and how refreshing it is to come here on the first day of the new year, but I can't.

I'm still in bed and I'm waiting for the traffic cone on the bottom of my bed to stop making the room spin round and round. And where did the donkey come from?

WOW!

I really like the new look!

I'm not sure about the green title headers but everything else looks cool. I especially approve of the usage of the official 'Amiga boing ball in cog' image in the title bar.

I believe sudden changes nearly always results into much divided opinions. Personally I like the current design better than the old one.

I believe the changes first need to sink in a little. This default theme is also much quicker to load than the previous one. We can handle far more visitors this way and better avoid being Slashdotted when AmigaOS4 is released or another important event comes up.

My best wishes to all for a "miggy" 2005

I like the new look, i prefer plain and easy designs over too complicated ones! I like the green too, even if i think that a bit of red somewhere would be good

mikeB: well it ruined other sites and it might ruin this one too...
anyway its good to have capacity and speed but also there needs to be a "impression" made to all the users who come here....something generic doesnt make that...

anyway im no web man.... i just know how i want it and im a cry baby...

cheers

The new look is quite relaxing and clean, yet looks professional. Nicely done!

The only gripe I have is the two adverts in the banner at the top do not tile beside each other properly in IBrowse2.3 any more. They tile above each other causing the AW logo to mess up. Perhaps someone could fix that to how it was?

@Laser

on which resolution?

Here with IB2.3 on 1024x768 WB, in a ~800x600 window, the 2 adverts are aligned horizzontally.

If i reduce the window size, so yes the 2 adv become one over the other.

It seems OK IMHO.

EDIT- the same with AWeb3.5.04 68K

With Voyager 68K, the 2 adverts still aligned horizzontally even if you reduce the V window size (but obviously the 2nd adv go outside the viewable page)
