Software News   Software News : 20th Anniversary Bonus Pack for AmigaOS 4.0 released
posted by AmigaPapst on 22-Jul-2005 13:58:21 (17052 reads)
Leuven, Belgium - 22. July 2005

To commemorate the upcoming 20th anniversary of the launch of the Amiga platform on July 23rd, Hyperion Entertainment is pleased to provide registered AmigaOS 4.0 users with a special treat in the form of a much improved version of Intuition and several "themes".

This new version of Intuition unlocks functionality which demonstrates the very high degree of customisation of the user-interface which is now possible under AmigaOS 4.0.

Here are some screenshots of the themes in action:

The "Default" theme (for reference).
The "Atez" theme.
The "ZAmi" theme.
The "Classic" theme.
The "MT" theme.

You can find the download
here. Enjoy!

@Mason

These 32-bit Masonicons? Are they part of the final OS4.0, and it's possible to use them, and where to find them?

Will anyone tell us non-OS4 users what those new facilities of intuition.library are? The only difference I see are the shortened window titles and maybe fuel gauges if they hadn't been possible yet (but I guess so).

Hi Helgis,

I would also need a nice background picture. I hope that the background in the Zami Theme is available as well

The backdrops seen in these screenshots are not included with the themes. For those and other excellent backdrops, visit here:

Well, I liked the first attempt also... and I hope something along a mixture from 1st and 2nd attempts can be used...

A revamped and renewed newicons style...

@mattk

Thanks for the link.

How'd they inserted Workbench 1.3 and Extras 1.3 disks in AmigaOne, as seen in the classic theme. My guess is they used catweasel or RAD:

New Shell process 2
2.Workbench:> ram:
2.RAM Disk:> mount RAD:
2.RAM Disk:> transADF RAD: Extras_1.3.adf 0 79 W

Here they run the demos on the extras disk...
then:
2.RAM Disk:> transADF RAD: Workbench_1.3.adf 0 79 W

I have some problems finding it.

I did have some problems getting the Zami theme up. I click it and it just hangs. After switching a few themes and try it again it seems to work.

Neat!

As hideous as the "Classic" theme might be, it does bring back some fond memories. Aah, those were the days... Now, let me tell you, when I was your age..

Heh, heh. . . . classic. That really brings back memories. . . especially the graphics demoes.

Thanks Hyperion.

Onoe little problem, though:

Does anyone else have problems trying to view a second theme after having a different one up first? I get a complete lock up if I try to view a second theme without rebooting first.

I did a Ctrl - Alt - Alt hard reboot after installing the themes, so the new intution .kmod should have been in place OK.

Paul
