| Recieved the game today and tested it on my A4000D '060, ran slow as hell both in AGA and CGX (using Picasso 96). Anyone else having the same problem? maybe my Cybervision 64 isn't enough for this game... :P _________________ A4000 CSMKII 50mhz A4000 CS PPC 604e@233mhz '060@50mhz A3000 '040@40mhz A1200 '030@50mhz A500+ '030@40mhz

| As reported earlier I have a 1200 060, and the demo runs very slow in both AGA and on my Voodoo3 3000 with P96.
Admittedly this is with a demo that has known corrupt files.
I had a look at the icon tooltypes though and it looked like (probably wrong here) the game was trying to run in chip memory.
In both AGA and P96, the game takes a long time to load, and the last time I tried in AGA it failed altogether. |

| If the archive was fine, I would of said so...
Im currently uploading a fixed archive, and a patch archive for those who've downloaded it already but it'll take some time because I can only afford a 64kbps upstream connection.
As for download speeds... the server is fine and has a stack of bandwidth available so it must be a routing issue with you. _________________ Regards Darren 'Ryu' Glenn ---------------------------- www.IntuitionBase.com - Your Guide to Amiga OS4.x and the AmigaOne www.Bambi-Amiga.co.uk - My A1200 webserver, running 24/7/365

I didn't see much difference, if any. It was still slow.
One thing I noticed was that the pre-rendered intro shown just before the race, where the camera tracks past some plants on the hill side before dropping into the valley where the cars are, this was much faster on AGA (20fps?) than p96 (5fps?). :-/ |

The Demo ran OK on WinUAE here (3GHz P4, Radeon 9800 Pro, 1GB PC2700), but only using CGX. It crashes when trying the AGA mode though which is frustrating, normally either in the Menu's or near the start of loading. Also the AGA exe didn't show the CD "Lade" screen unlike the CGX mode.
My only real complain is the draw distance, which does seem a little close to the user, as well as my lack of being able to see exactly where the course goes.
Also, it took me more than 14 hours to download this thing at an average 3.6K/s _________________ Test sig (new)

What config do you run it on? I have a crash after a while (BPPC 040/25/). Last edited by mailman on 29-Dec-2005 at 07:09 PM.

| Going to be interesting if it will run in 0.5fps or 1fps for you since you only have a '040 _________________ A4000 CSMKII 50mhz A4000 CS PPC 604e@233mhz '060@50mhz A3000 '040@40mhz A1200 '030@50mhz A500+ '030@40mhz

Argh. Speed like that would be awful It would take 2 - 3 days to download one Linux CD Atleast movie companies are happy, i think you wont download movies a lot Last edited by miksuh on 30-Dec-2005 at 06:09 AM. Last edited by miksuh on 30-Dec-2005 at 06:09 AM.

Hehe true. Last year I had a better connectin here that got 25K/s, but since then my partner moved, and this was the best connection she can get where we currently are - which is in the middle of nowhere
At least I can actually get online _________________ Test sig (new)

| I can tell you guys that the demo patch works. it even cut down the loading times, everything went smooth...would be great though if the scrolling was a bit smoother in the game..maybe some fine tuning is needed for the final patch _________________ A4000 CSMKII 50mhz A4000 CS PPC 604e@233mhz '060@50mhz A3000 '040@40mhz A1200 '030@50mhz A500+ '030@40mhz

| Well, I downloaded again the full archive and ran it on AmigaForever 6. My setup is a P4 1.7Ghz, 512MB DDR, and Radeon 9700. I selected CGX mode (and only got one option of 320X240 8bit mode). It ran so fast that it is unplayable for me. My WinUAE settings are for an 040, and I've set the timing to "Fastest possible, but maintain chipset timing".
I also tried AGA but still way too fast and over sensitive. The controls are impossible, as even setting the steering sensitivity all the way down, if I slightly touch the direction button, the car immediately "slams" from one side of the track to the other, immediately ramming into some oddly placed bush or object (and a bush shouldn't stop your car dead, but simply slow you down a bit). It's too bad, because this has the potential to be a good game, but the controls are just horrible. Well, for me it is.
Oh, and the "Lade" screen popping up with a spinning CD in between every submenu is annoying as heck. Why does it have to spin the CD and count up that bar in between every sub menu? I like the style of the graphics, but this one needs some polish before I would buy it. |
