Might be that a version from pre 19 68k might work, or older perhaps, but I have only tested with my own pre 21 config, that made it go into an endless loop. |
Okay; my config file is from 4.17pre20 68k. But it doesn't seem to even try to read it, but just comes up with the default config. Has the path for the config file(s) changed? I believe mine is in S: (and the classes definition seems to be in the Modules subdir of PROGDIR: -- for the 68k installation, so no wonder that one isn't seen from the new version . Hmm, maybe that is why the config isn't used, too? I'll try copying the .CLA file over).
Best regards,

Okay, I worked this out by myself by checking where the file requesters open when I select Configure->Open and Classes->Open from within the filetypes configuration page.
So I copied my old .CFG to PROGDIR:S and my old .CLA to PROGDIR:Modules, and yes, then I also get an endless loop.
Does anybody know of any tool or documentation for investigating the contents of those files?
Best regards,
Niels |

Sorry no, no 68k compiles from me. I've made the sources very AmigaOS 4:ish, and removed a whole lot of ancient stuff so far. Current sources probably wouldn't compile very easily on any other plattform.
Knowing the source somewhat now, I could probably manage to compile the old sources for 68k, but there's no point in doing so, for me, and I don't think I can justify the time spent doing so.

| it is a very good idea though, selecting files with the cursors, entering dirs/selecting files with enter, and switching lister with tab. please consider it.
do you have any plans on enhancing dopus4? if so, can you tell us a little of the ideas you have? it would be nice to have a constructive disussion on the topic, i am sure there are lots of good ideas for dopus4 out there. Last edited by spotUP on 23-Apr-2006 at 10:32 PM.

| Is it possible to pay from an bank-account straight within Europe as I think it would spurr up my buyings a lot (generally a1) , I will never "buy" a visa card just for a few euros + expences. Sorry, the same whining again. I just think we are a little behind in technology as I have the money but want to spend it in the sw/hw but not to the banks who don't care about Amiga at all... The future should be today. |

| I installed all the libs etc needed from zerohero page. copied over my old 68k version. Rebooted. Tryed the new os4 native version but i cant get the config window to appear. It wont show up.
I use pre20 68k version before. With the native i got problems also with colours. The grey background and the dirs are in white now so it looks strange. With other words i cant see the dirs as they are in white colour. Ill test later some more. However as i cant get the config window to appear i cant change the colours :(
EDIT: I loaded the config module manually and then the config window appeared :) My config does open but many stuff looks or doesnt work good. So probably not compatible with config of pre20 dopus. Last edited by Kicko on 24-Apr-2006 at 11:56 PM.

| There's a new version available now, some more fixes and stuff. ConfigOpus should be stable now.

| The good news are: it works
The bad news: it doesn't read previous config or classes files. As NBache has done, I have tried to put those files in the correct place, but this has not worked. Loading without .CFG or .CLA and trying to import them from ConfigOpus didn't work either.
When importing filetypes, at least it seems to work: you select the file, the filetypes you want to import and then press OK, but the filetypes are not shown on the list. Strangely enough, if you save the Classes file, the filetypes seem to be there, in the saved file...
On the other hand, importing prefs do not work at all: as soon as you select the .CFG file to be imported, pointer changes to 'busy' and remains that way until you reboot.

Btw I can't add filetypes. The class window is empty. Is this a known bug? _________________ /Harry
