You should know by now we are all visually inclined and therefore always hunger for pictures even if they are still work-in-progress |

Could a moderator please fix the SoundMax link? It currently says "http:// http://www.soundmax.com/" (complete with embedded space). |

Good point. Are there DRIVERS for this chipset yet? Is DaveAE working on them? _________________ ...wait... what?

Hi Dave,
I sure hope they give you a new board (and chip docs) so you can do the drivers. Soon.. _________________ /Harry

| @Samwel:
SoundMAX is an AC'97 compatible chip, so the drivers should be similar to those for built-in sound on AmigaOnes. I don't know enough about the standard to know if you can just use the same drivers (with maybe some loss of functionality), but I believe that Dave should be able to reuse most of the code in the existing drivers. |

| No, only some code. You have the audio controller and the codec. Usually they are separate chips, except for very few, like the cmi8738. You can't use the via686b (which acts as an audio controller) driver on the Troika board since it most likely doesn't have one.
The ac'97 is present on for example the Terratec 512i, SoundBlaster cards with emu10kx and lots of onboard solutions. They all require different drivers. _________________ Audio Evolution http://www.audio-evolution.com

| Hi,
The Prometheus developer documentation still needs some updates, but if you want any advance info, contact me via email or if at the show next week, ask me.
The AC97 codec interfaces via the new southbridge we added, full details to follow in the press release.

I really wish you guys had picked a different codename. I read your post and thought "what does the Prometheus PCI expansion board have to do with the Amy '05?" - then I realized that Prometheus is also the Amy'05... |
