That was just my personal opinion. I'd be glad to be proved wrong.
As for the "leave them be, they don't hurt", I disagree. Creating expectations without intention of delivering hurts, especially in our community. Isn't our (software) situation bad enough???
Again, I would be extremely happy if proven wrong. |

I am actually just as tired of reading negative comments about every single thing that could be something positive. Even when AOS 4 Final Update was released at christmas there had to be complains over the naming! So if someone got good intentions there has to be complains even when there aren't anything to complain about even. You may not realise it but it hurts both the community and the developers as well (have you seen the freiden brothers much lately?)...
Besides, you have been in the community for a long time and should know not to believe in everything you read instead of complaining about it. There are games even for PC that never got released. |

I believe in "selective optimism". If you trace my posts, the majority are positive, but to blindly believe everything I read and jump with joy is not for me. I don't find this an unreasonable way of looking at things and I don't think a moderate precaution hurts the community or the developers. What I do think hurts the community is announcing vapourware, like this one points out to be.
What if I launch a website stating "I'll release Halo or Lightwave for OS4 in a couple of months!". Unless I was a known coder, I'd be laughed at.
I can understand your point of view, but I don't feel I have to cheer for everything I read, especially when it so blatantly looks like a joke. |

I don't cheer I just pretty much leave it be since complaining won't help nor change anything. Besides the coment wasn't pointed at you but at the fact that there are so many complains about everything that it's geting silly and really boring to read the comments. It's not like you have to either cheer or complain, you can choose to do neither of it. |

Staying silent could lend credibility. When the situation warrants it, I think we Amigans may vent our disapprovement. It's just a matter of selecting when to speak. I thought this was something I had to speak about.
But I can understand what you mean: there's too much criticism here. I like criticism when it's backed with facts (or, like this case, apparent facts). |

| So when I complete my classic Amiga game and I upload it to Aminet for download would I still be criticized then? Last edited by Foody on 23-Jun-2007 at 02:48 PM.

Obviously not. But if you announce you're creating a mega-ultra-fabulous game and then disappear for months or years, you're probably will... ;) |

| What is this Murder Death Kill game? There are some screeshots on the site, but there are no mention of this port elsewhere! Any info? Last edited by petrol on 23-Jun-2007 at 06:35 PM.

Check the main address. You are going to see flash site. It is still them but I guess they are not aware that any Amiga webbrowser does not support Flash. Last edited by mailman on 24-Jun-2007 at 10:12 AM.

Their new flash site is even more devoid of content then their last one. Even the about us box is empty. I wish that they'd finish the content before uploading.
