AFAOS 4.0 final beta.
This is the final beta test version of AfA OS 4.0, which is running stable with it's extended features. If you mention that a program does not show bigger than normal borders (increased Bordersize) properly, please give me feedback about it, so I can Blacklist these Programmes from the beginning in the final release. These blacklisted programmes will then only use standard border size.
Please read more for features and further information!
Features:
You can select between Visualprefs, Birdie or AFA-skin system via AFA_Prefs and a customized startup-sequence. Please follow the procedure that is given in the readme to do so. (In Amikit 1.4 it is already implemented as standard)
OS4/PNG Icons can be scaled in realtime, due to a high quality scale code by Thilo Köhler. On a Classic (060) OS4 Mason-Icons in 30 pixel size can be shown faster than in original size. See provided screenshot of scaled Masonicons, on the right, Ken-Icons are in original size.
Added for "getdiskobject" and "dupdiskopbject" following tags "IA_Width" and "IA_Height" for scaling.
Realtime Skinsystem, which can switch skins without closing the screen for switching.
User-defined border size, for any window, see screenshot at the following link: http://amidevcpp.amiga-world.de/AfA_Screenshots/currentafa%20develop.png
A user-configurable blacklist with tasknames of programs that do not work with increased border size properly, so that only AOS standard size will be used.
Many configurable real time parameters, like 3 different borderlines. The user can alter the pre defined Skin parameter through a GUI.
Window Title Font is autonomously from AOS window font selectable. Position of window title font, shadow and depth selectable.
The Skins consist of several images: Screentitle, all parts of the window border like top-, left-, bottom- and right-frame. For- and background for the vertical/ horizontal sliding controller.
7 Skins from Ken Lester are usable. Follow the link for a screenshot with 6 out of 7 of these skins:

but a converter is work and need additional time to execute.
wy not modify OS4 that it work with modern technique and PNG alphachannel support ?
OS4 is some years out, i see only 15 files in OS4 depot gra/themes for OS4 intuition skins.
not sure how many skion files really are out for OS4
I dont know if it is worth the time to make backward compatibility for such few themes
>Well... it seems someone gave you incorrect information. If you want any help, >contact me on the #morphos irc channel (freenode).
I have no irc, but you can write me a PM here with his new mailadress.
normaly i go public and ask for help by furtherdevelop AOS. But i fear because of red versus blue war maybe some user can read this and write to the Authors that can support AFA that they shpouls not do that.
so i dont do that, and try contact the authors privat and for the developers who give up the amiga since long time or dont hate other sytems than their own, i see no reason wy they not support AFA.
they have no work and can btw use a modernized AOS on High End Hardware(a ex amiga user have a PC) with many features for free Last edited by bernd_afa on 23-Nov-2007 at 12:04 PM.

Again, Tronan does not have anything to do with MorphOS' skinning system. If you want any help related to the MOS skinning, I'm afraid you have to install some IRC client and ask me about it (hint: I wrote the MorphOS' skinning stuff). Don't bother PMing, I might reply to emails, but the only reliable way to contact me is on irc (evenings). The nickname is the same as here. |

| hello,
I use aos 3.9 bb2. I have disabled all cosmetic programs for testing afa_os and put morelibspace at top on the startup sequence, but not work (and need to reboot with the reboot button of my tower to reboot normally.)
after numerous try, I have decided, for the last test of yesterday, to put morelibspace as a blizzkick module (and enabled only the blizzkick command line on my S-S) and finally skin was available on the prefs and afa_os work.
c:morelibspace on startup not work. morelibspace as a module on blizzkick work. _________________ BTW, what you have done for the amiga today ????

After reading Documentation/Intuition/BitmapSets on the OS4Final CD I get the idea that it does not need to be modified. |
