| yes the opengpu plugin works very well but w3d on my ua1 is too slow with 256 texture, the games are playable only with reduced texture (1/4), i think that warp3d drivers are absolete and not well integrated in AOS4, have you tried to use MiniGL ?? Thanks for this great works _________________ Sam 460EX, 2Gb Ram, Radeon R7 250, AmigaOS4.1 FE A4000 PPC604@233, Mediator A1200 PPC603@160, Mediator uA1 G3@800, 512 Mb [sold]

| MiniGL is just a wrapper on top of Warp3D and would not help but rather slow things down.
You could try to use fewer textures instead of reducing the texture resolution, try a value of around 100 or so. |

| yes ok, but with W3D plug in on my machine the games are not well playable, instead with opengpu i play very well much games, i repeat i think that warp3d drivers are not well integrated with picasso96 or all AOS4, i'm not a programmer but from the side user i can say that MorphOS in this range is more evolved. _________________ Sam 460EX, 2Gb Ram, Radeon R7 250, AmigaOS4.1 FE A4000 PPC604@233, Mediator A1200 PPC603@160, Mediator uA1 G3@800, 512 Mb [sold]

The R200 Warp3D driver is very slow when rendering few/small triangles. |
Yeah, sadly I am aware of that. I know what the problem is, even how to fix it, but the fix would require a good deal of work to be worth it.
The problem is the way that data is transferred to the R200 engine. What I *should* do is build up vertex arrays in video ram and only use the CP for a vertex buffer load and submit. What I actually did was use the CP for the commands and data. I wouldn't have thought it would make such an impact, but it does.
I might change that in the future, I am currently working on something that will require me to make a few changes in the Warp3D driver anyway, so if I get the time I'll try to optimize it a bit. Unfortunately the 2D driver somewhat interferes as well, so I will need to do some fixing there too. _________________ Seriously, if you want to contact me do not bother sending me a PM here. Thanks for the explanation!
Maybe it's time for me to start harassing you with my request for reverse subtractive blending again |

Peops for most games. I'm mainly using the W3D one for Colin McRae as the experimental scaling works really well and it looks rather nice at 1024x768 or so... But unless you have a Radeon 7000 I would stick to the Peops one for now. |

Hmm, is "Alert: 0x80000005" a "Divide by zero" in the MorphOS world as well? Can the JIT emulation in MorphOS be disabled? Does it make a difference? |

Yes, It can be disabled (one line in startup-sequence) but it doesn't make any difference :(

| I'm so impressed! Works great, much faster, doesn't crash. I really hope that the problems regarding 3D in hw will be fixed soonish to make the games look prettier but... it is lots of fun anyway |

I know someone else asked about this, but are many games playable on a real 68k, or is it more for an emulated one as others have suggested? |

Definately only usable on emulated 68k.
@Amidog
Ive been getting a "failed to initialse fpse.dll" message. Any hints as to what this issue may be ? (68k version) Last edited by fishy_fis on 05-Feb-2008 at 05:10 AM.

Which system are you using for the 68k version?
Try to add the tooltype "DEBUG=YES", might give some hint(s). |

Not really, even with the fastest 68060 accelerator money can buy (which probably is something like a 80MHz one) only simple 2D games may be considered playable.
I started writing the (ColdFire friendly) M68k recompiler to prepare for the Dragon which actually seemed to be close to a release back then... |

Have you tried running FPSE with compiler disabled, using a BIOS dump and only null-plugins? Does that work? Then try adding only the gpupeops one with all features disabled (no scaling, window mode, no postprocessing, no speed limit etc) just to make sure the issue is in gpupeops. If it is, then I'll have to compile a version with debug information to be able to figure out exactly where it crashes. |

Hehe On the other hand, getting that color scaling fixed and some improved performance is much more important than fixing the few issues caused by the missing blendingmode. |
