Maybe they are auctioning off the old equipment to pay for the T-Shirts!

Gary from AI has stated on the lists that they are simply selling the old stuff in the offices that they had moved out of a year ago.

Look on the bright side. Maybe they'll be using AmigaOnes instead of PC's in the future.

@SlimJim

I understand your viewpoint, but what I'm saying is where does it end? A.Inc have no obligation to tell us anything of that ilk, and if you get a less than savioury answer, well you'd be pretty fed up with it too if you ran A.Inc.

If you couldn't tell by that post, I'm pretty stressed out atm too!

@Dave_P

It would seem that A.inc had got rid of the PR department long long ago, if indeed there ever was one.

I'm just fed up with the whole A.Inc situation and the sooner OS4 gets out into the world the better.

We need something POSITIVE for a change.

Read the thread that follows on from this on ANN to see if you still have the same defeated feeling:

Articia S continued

I think Im winning that one on points at the moment - the case Im trying to win being that considering all current sources the case is not proven against Mai or Eyetech.

@ Hooligan and warface

Please behave, I did not target my criticism at anyone specific and so I believe there is no need for you two to feel offended.

But IMO certain people, without naming them, are trying to drag everything they can into the darkest light possible.

@MikeB

We all know who the wackkos are but aren't you even the least bit concerned "biased" (according to Moobunny) people like myself, SlimJim and Bodie are starting to get very edgy about this?

Or maybe we are the wackkos you won't name

@MikeB

Actually I was aiming my reply to you.. forgot that pressing reply doesn't show whom to I replied to.
It has become a habit for you to use the word FUD in every second post .. it sort of loses meaning, know what I mean. Basicly I agree 100% with Warface.

We are all human beings, with the non stop mess flying around IMO many people would eventually start to get "edgy".

As Slimjim said in his usual calm and well thought out posts, don't blame the FUD and trolls. These rumours exist because AmigaInc let them exist, or rather because they can't do anything to stop them. They are very weak: no money, no deals, no product, bad PR,... need i go on? I mean, what can they do in such situation?

Don't blame the depressing state of the Amiga community on the trolls. Face reality and blame it on AmigaInc. Their best year was the first year, after that they went from bad to worse... Not true? Well, do you believe that we would be in the same situation if AmigaInc was doing good?

I'm sick and tired of hearing "soon", "exciting",... because i don't find anything exciting about the past 3 years. AmigaInc just hasn't got what it takes, sorry. My only question therefore is how long before they give up, a good thing for all.

I hear people say: well, they managed to stay alive. But what's the use of being alive and just that. Are we so desparate to we see 'being alive' is a positive sign?

There is only one to blame here, and that is AmigaInc. Sorry, but being alive doesn't do it for me.

So what should we do: wait for Amiwest, hear a great speach about everything exciting coming soon and then wait another 5 or so years. No thank you.

@z5

I actually agree with you. I have only been back in the Amiga circuit for about a year now, but I am also fed up of "soon, exciting" etc.

I don't care about AG1, AG2, BS6, to me it is nothing more then marketing hype, and I get enough of that at work! I respect AmigaINC for having stayed around for the last 3 years in a difficult situation. But when it comes to PR they suck, sorry AI. I listen to all the bits-and-bobs that Bill McE has said a various shows, read Fleecy's Q&A sessions and still only here them saying about this and that exciting thing that is going to happen. Sorry but I don't care what might happen, all I want is OS4. THEN we can start talking about what will happen in the future. Fleecy keeps on about this AG2 stuff, when he hasn't even got an operating system to run on it.

Like I say, I do respect AI for staying alive when others in the IT industry have gone, but I think they need to concentrate on getting OS4 out and giving themselves a product to use with this "AG2" first, then start thinking about where to take it.

I seem to recall someone from Amiga awhile back stating that everyone was now working from thier home office, so is this selling of the furniture they are not using so unusual?

Maybe this has been pointed out already, but it is not Amiga, Inc. that is having items auctioned; it is one of Amiga's creditors, namely their former landlord, holding the auction to try to recoup some of the unpaid rent. This is a matter of public record. I'm afraid this puts things in a much different light.

@gary_c

While I am not saying what you pointed out is untrue, but how come on the site that is going to do the auction it lists Amiga INC as the company and not thier former landlord? Would it not make sense that if he/she/they (the landlord) were selling this stuff, it would be under thier name?

Just wondering
