| The project description at AmigaBounty is not clear about one thing. Will a Morphos Version be possible? (Either by publishing the source or by Álmos Rajnai himself) |

| Nice one Rachy.
@rzookol
The bounty says this;
"The JIT will automatically become open source and other PPC OS, be able to benefit from it." |

| I donated. Next we need to make the E-UAE interface like the WinUAE interface. And make the files compatible (maybe they are already). I would contribute to that also. _________________ X5000 / microA1(OS4.1 FE U2) / CodeBench / Imagine / Blender Lightwave 2019 / Microsoft Visual C++

| I donated 2 years ago for this bounty, when not a lot of people were interested in because they were saying faster hardware should benefit more to E-UAE than JIT and look now... so I am very happy someone took the job ! best of luck Rachy |

I thought that Cyborg had already made a WinUAE styled interface for the current build of E-UAE (according to the bounty here).
As far as I am aware, the configuration files should be compatible between both E-UAE and WinUAE since it is just a plain text ".ini" that is saved and parsed. The GUI just makes updating this simpler - and with each new iteration of WinUAE, options are added, and other depreciated or removed/ignored.
The biggest drawbacks faced in E-UAE currently are that it is based on a very old source from WinUAE now (some of the last ports were from the 1.3.x/1.5.x series - it's last release is dated back in 2007), and so lack a lot of the fixes made in the current builds for Windows, and lack the JIT to speed it up. _________________ Test sig (new)

Yes, there is already a E-UAE GUI for AmigaOS 4.x
@ALL
Well the other flip side to this good news, is that the fruits of Álmos Rajnai labour will possibly, also benefit the core Petunia Platform on Amiga OS4.x

| Hello,
I'm verry happy for this news but if I remembered well old thread about this subject, the work will be hard and difficult for this not easy task.
Honeslty, If on SAM 533 MHZ, E-UAE could run at the speed of a 68060/50, that will be very great !!!
Will donate for sure next monday. _________________ BTW, what you have done for the amiga today ????

| Big Big news, exactly as we (community) wanted it! I hope it will be done during 2011 and included in EUAE OS4 and with glUAE or similar in OS itself! We need perfect JIT enabled CPU emulation and optimized chipset emulation _________________ OS 3.x AROS and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionalism. Learn it harder way! While UAE JIT is expected to have better compatibility than Petunia or Trance please be aware that not all games and demos work with UAE JIT. _________________ Amiga Developer Amiga 500, Efika, Mac Mini and PowerBook

This is not enough for me to make a donation. If the bounty was specified in a way requiring a MorphOS version of JIT-ed UAE to be created [as well], as one of conditions to be met, I would make a donation. In the current conditions I pass. _________________ RastPort

Did you can contact with Rachy and ask him about morphos stuff more clear ? I mean if he will make JIt as it will works for morphos's euae, then bounty will be bigger in twice. But if it will be only about aos4, then twice less money. _________________ Join us to improve dopus5! zerohero's mirror of os4/os3 crosscompiler suites

| You can't ask him to do a MOS version if he doesn't want/care about MOS. It's the same for Fab doing an OS4 version of OWB. Someone had to do it _________________ Philippe 'Elwood' Ferrucci Sam460 1.10 Ghz AmigaOS 4 betatester Amiga Translator Organisation

Yes. I do have E-UAE with JIT enable (this is on Linux/x86) and that is great, but I would like some issues to be fixed (the bug tracker is no more working on the sourceforge project).
Keyboard: With the kbd_lang=fr setting (in .uaerc), the num keys are missing (but cursor keys are available). From what I can read in the sdlkeys.c source code, it's a known problem, still to be fixed. With the sdl.map_raw_keys=true setting, the num keys are available, but then the cursor keys are not.
openGL support: With Software Rendering on Linux and the sdl.use_gl=true setting, emulation works but is very slow and jerky. With Direct Rendering available, that setting makes E-UAE to fail: "SDLGFX: Failed to allocate texture".
(See other details here: E-UAE config (kbd, speed, sound) ) |
