Wow, those were some seriously bad graphics for the A1200!!! I hear that GameTek's Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo had better graphics but rubbish gameplay!!! I'll stick with Hyper Streetfighter 2 on the PS2 - Awesome with my Ken joypad |
I originally bought gametek SSF2T back in the 90s when i saw it in HMV, it was terrible, they had removed a lot of animation frames, most of the sound effects were gone, it had no music and was as smooth as a cheese grater. Everybody knows the animation is key to timing in SF2 so it was pretty unplayable.
I took it back and swapped it for super street fighter 2, it may have looked bad but most of the sounds were there, it was smooth as butter and most importantly it had all the animation frames intact. It looks like it was a quick and dirty port of the megadrive version with the graphics scaled down badly, probably given more time they would have made it look a lot better but it played like it should have and that was most important.
the ECS version was actually shown in an episode of father ted running on an A600, father Dougal was playing it with a friend, that version was nowhere near as good as the AGA version but you could at least use the keyboard for all 6 buttons, the AGA version supported one or two buttons and the CD32 pad.
I would love to know how they get the backrounds out of the game and the limitations on the pallet, size 'etc, how to get them back into the game and if the sprites can also be modified. I would enjoy messing with that game to try and make it look as good as it possibly can. :)
These days i stick with Super Streetfighter 2 X on my dreamcast with the great Dreamcast arcade stick, it doesn't get better than that _________________

| It's a shame Cammy doesn't frequent this site any more so probably won't read this, but fascinating interview and glad she's developing new games for the Amiga, she has a real passion for the machine. |

I know she got a lot of grief from some stupid males who probably never see a female in real life around certain sites, however, not sure if they were from here.
I for one like having Cammy around, she is far easier on the eye than most Amiga fans and more knowledgeable than most too.
Although there was this one girl in italy,
