Amigaworld.net News   Amigaworld.net News : indieGO!- Bonusprogram for Developers
   posted by phoenixkonsole on 15-Nov-2014 16:25:45 (5376 reads)
Next month we will open the store in terms of "being able to purchase something". For now people can only download freeware or commercial stuff if they have a "voucher-code".

The developer bonus program checks each month for the month's top10 Developers (by downloads) and each of them will get 1/10th of the bonus sum. The amount of the bonus sum will differ month to month based on the financial surplus. As a start, I've thrown in 100€ which equals to 10000amicoins (indiecoins are the same).

Developers can follow the guide to learn how to publish their content on the indieGO-Store. Accepted contents are:
Games, Applications, Operating systems, Drivers, Music, Movies, Magazines
If you have something else please ask.

Today I add a new target platform "Hollywood-player" since applets can now be used HW- independent it makes sense to have a Hollywood store.

So far we surpassed the 250 user-mark.

@Cgutjahr (Du Fuchs ; ) )
1) Yep (but i will offer them also by myself from time to time)
2) Yep
and the things i mentioned earlier : )

@g_kraszewski
Opt-IN is needed when you register from Websites. If you register from client you actually accepted the rules already. It doesn't hurt to get a email as well. The link should be fixed. Normally there is a clickable link but some Amiga-Emailapps didn't show it so we added a plain text link as well.

2. Ok i forward this bug
3. Is on my ToDO-list ; )

@ phoenixkonsole

looks great ! I like the idea of using Amiga Coins (AmiCoins) http://www.amigacoin.org/ as bitcoins are gaining more and more acceptance world wide.

@klx300r: You are mixing two different things here. This "amigacoin" linked was a real cryptocurrency, one of thousands of bitcoin/litecoin clones. AFAIK it is not actively mined anymore, also is not exchanged on any cryptocurrency exchange in the world. Its block explorer is dead and readning bitcointalk.org thread also says a lot. Considering its extreme premine it looks like a typical altcoin scam, however considering it has been traded only on one exchange for very short time, it was not very profitable scam . Just a lame attempt I would say. However seeing that phoenixconsole participated in the thread is very interesting.

Amicoin seems to be just some virtual (not crypto!) currency-like token, centrally issued and without any real economy behind it. It is like a cassino token. You can buy it in the cassino, use it for play there, then exchange it back to cash (BTW I wonder if it will be possible for customers to exchange back amicoins to cash...), but once you go out, these tokens are worthless.

@ g_kraszewski

ah yes my apologiesd as indeed I mixed up the two. If enough people mined and traded Amiga Coins I still think it would be a good idea in the future.

I like the amigacoin project as well : )
Scamming risk is relative because we can still decided about the worth.
We just need wallets and miners for amigas.
The first bitcoin trade was about pizza, I could offer that:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=643170.0

There was a short time where you could trade it but since only a few people mined it it became irrelevant.

@phoenixkonsole:

Scamming risk is relative because we can still decided about the worth.

By what means? We even don't know how many coins are premined. Huge premine of an altcoin usually means one thing: pump and dump. You should be very cautious stepping on this thin ice.

Well... last time i checked it it was Young and the author donated all coins on a Website where you could just request them. Also he donated if you asked him.
Also there was a Website where you could check total mined ammount.
So it was ok for me. Of course now the later Thing is broken it seems.

Back then i would have estimated total coins and offered a Pizza and Coke.
A pity that it is not gone further.
