Wow! The atmosphere seems pretty friendly. There's only one drawback for "a few of us": it's in Swedish... ;)
Can you translate the vital points of the discussion regarding "Racer"? Is everyone ecstatic over there? |

| From the proostsoftware.com "Latest News" section:
24/06/2007 Amiga dev ceased Whe have received hate mails, and read several Amiga forums claiming Zombies was a hoax! This news is a shock for us, and many people should understand that racer & MDK are free projects! Whe are a small company and our 2 PC projects are prior to all! The Amiga ports have been in progress because some people at Proost software have Amiga roots. However if this damages our company name, whe have no other choice! Racer have made some good progress for Amiga if someone wants the project mail us.... _________________ Here for the whimpering end

This is beyond pathetic... Just because a few (like me, for example) think this was a hoax, the project has been cancelled. Bring on the headlines:"The Amiga community kills another awesome project!!!".
Thankfully, the Friedens didn't also quit after the first few obstacles. |

I am actually just as tired of reading negative comments about every single thing that could be something positive. Even when AOS 4 Final Update was released at christmas there had to be complains over the naming! |
And now the trial brings out the fact that those questions were justified.
With the current mess who really knows what is true and what is not? Even if something is true now, after the trial it can be the opposite.

So if someone got good intentions there has to be complains even when there aren't anything to complain about even. You may not realise it but it hurts both the community and the developers as well (have you seen the freiden brothers much lately?)... |
Can you really blame people? After several years of "facts" from all parts, including the Friedens, Hyperion, Amiga Inc. and others, it now turns out that some of these "facts" were all false. At AmiGBG in 2005 the new hardware was just around the corner, it must be one very long corner since it still hasn't shown up.
Regarding this game, hopefully it will show up, if not, just one more addon to the list over announcements that never were completed. Time will tell. _________________ Site admins are people too..pooff!

I can cope with projects that were announced and, for multiple reasons, never completed. What I really dislike are announcements that were made with no intention of even starting up.
The first project ("Zombies") was dropped for no apparent reason. Now this is cancelled because of supposed hate mail, even after "considerable progress on the game" was achieved.
I'm sure someone is having fun reading all these posts, but I think it's kind of sad, really. I wonder how old is the guy that started this hoax... |

| (Assuming this all was not a hoax)
LOL !
I don't know who need a reality check the most. Those who wrote those e-mails or those that actually cared what was in them. Boy, It's really easy for Mac/Windows/Linux users to kill Amiga products nowdays. Sheesh.
I can forsee another scenario :
Linux is dead ------------------------------------- We have recieved hate e-mails, if that is how you like it we will stop developing Linux entirely. Last edited by Manu on 26-Jun-2007 at 12:58 PM. Last edited by Manu on 26-Jun-2007 at 12:56 PM.

Who is that "we" ? Which company is "developing" Linux ???
IMHO, Linux was some kind of "Open Source Community Project" and not own/control by one single "entity" ?

Right about what ??? About it being a Hoax ?
Maybe... So I guess you sent them a nice Email (not another Hate Email ) to ask them for their current project as they kindly offered, and they ignored you or send you some other files ???
So could you kindly parse here the nice email you sent so "we" might understand better why that Email was ignored ?
Thanks.

Hmm? I predicted it was a hoax, proostsoftware.com comes with a incredible lame story about hate mails and how their reputation is being damaged by calling them hoaxers, thus stopping with amiga development...sounds more far fetched than my hoax theory imho. Why should I email them? Let them prove me wrong and I'll eat humble pie. _________________ x86/MorphOS 4.0

So you're so "high profile" that they are the one who should make the step ? I don't believe they took any money from you for example, so why do you tthink they own you anything ?
If I was a coder (my C/C++ year are now so far away...), I would sent that Email... And who knows... Maybe make you eat that humble pie... Though I'm sure some people would still pretend it's a hoax !
// It might still be... But so far, I haven't see the proof of those so quick to criticize everytrhing AOS4 or Amiga Hardware related !!!
