however, for amigaos will be an excellent and more modern suite than finalwriter or amigawriter o wordworth 7

I just don't get this office suite requirement!!

I use Open office on the Mac, but only the spreadsheet for converting to excell file format, the writer for opening doc file's oh, and saving files as pdf's.
So really, i use the functions of individual programs to achieve a result, not a combination of functions from different elements to achieve a result.
The only thing I get from OpenOffice is windows compatibility, and saving doc's as pdf's.

If I want to create doc's for my own use, I use Turbocalc, Wordworth and Pagestream, and pagestream even let's me print to a postscript file, which I can print to a pdf file using AmiGS.

So I suppose, windows compatibility is the only benefit to me.

IMHO 1500Euros+VAT sounds like a lot of money but no doubt some amigans will buy it.

You forgot to mention that 1500¤ include a COMPLETE SYSTEM:

Complete Computer Case with enough HD slots, correct form factor, and Amiga Logos, of a value of about 200¤

500 GB hard disk of about the value of 30/40 ¤ (depending where you buy it)

New PCI-E Graphic Card of about 100/150 ¤ of value

Original Keyboard with Amiga Design and Original Amiga Keys on it... And common good keyboards are priced at about 30 ¤

Then almost 360/400 ¤ are just bonus things included in the price of AmigaONE-X-1000... But they are important as all that makes AmigaONE X-1000 a complete computer that you can run from the very first moment you purchased it.

Trevor Dick also stated that AmigaONE X-1000 could be sold as standalone, then it's up to you to buy just the BARE X-1000 motherboard...

And I Think that then IMHO it will cost just only 1000/ 1100 euro if you decide to purchase it standalone, and in a second time, you can complete it with computer furnitures that you have already at home.

@Raffaele,

I do agree

If I remember well, I bought A1-XE motherboard about 900 euros to Eyetech, a few years ago.

So, 1500 euros for a complete system doesn't seem too expensive for me (if you look at specs and if you compare it to a XE motherboard)

Let me know the shop where you buy computer cases in order to avoid it

You can buy decent Thermaltake cases for the third part of that. The case proposed for the machine looks IMHO too big for the motherboard and despiting the nice boingball logo it looks like a pretty standard case.

Trevor has commented it would be a Radeon700... that could be a 30Euros Radeon HD4350 or something better like a 110Euros Shappire HD4850 if we go to the top of the range but still less than what you propose.

that's interesting but I fear it may be still too expensive for most of pockets...

Anyway good luck

Quote from the interview:

"It's our intention that the A1-X1000 will be sold as a pre-built, pre-installed AmigaOS 4.x system complete with an officially branded case, mouse and keyboard and complete with RAM, HDD, optical drive and graphics card. We have no plans to release the motherboard separately at this moment in time."

We are also working with an Amiga retailer to provide a matching branded Amiga keyboard and mouse set, without the dreaded Windows keys.
