Miscellaneous News   Miscellaneous News : Hyperion launches official AmigaOS website
posted by Petah on 22-Oct-2011 6:02:45 (9288 reads)
In a surprising yet often requested plead for action, Hyperion Entertainment has officially launched an AmigaOS website found at www.amigaos.net. The site, which currently promotes the operating system and some of its many features, also sports screen shots, information about the Amiga range of computers, key AmigaOS applications and the AmigaOS community at large.

It is very nicely done, I hope it will be updated and maintained.

A big thank you to everyone involved.

Yeah, this is awesome! GREAT job on the website. This is exactly what the AOS4 community needed in my opinion. Although they've been around a while, direct links to Hyperion's forum and blog are great. Great for support. Changelogs, application version updates and new software news! Thanks Hyperion!

Nice pic natamix!

It's really a great looking website with nice crisp colors and a lot of information - way to go to the people involved. Now please read my first oppinion:

Oppinion:

Where is the fun in the graphics?, fonts?, layout?, etc. ? - I don't think the site justifies the slogan (oh and i dont think the font in the slogan justifies the wording)

The wording itself was questionend a long time ago by someone here on aw.net - and this guy was as I recall it, rather high educated in the field of slogans and communication. Can't remember which thread it was where he gave a lot of input about it. Can't even remember what his username was. Only remembers that he gave a lot of info, which hyperion should have picked up immediately and reused later. It seems they didn't

I know I'm nitpicking and sorry for that, but when I see it I gotta say it, otherwise I'll end up in the dark for not telling something that probably could improve the situation/sales/image of AOS.

But it's still one heck of a nice website, I just wish it looked a bit more like the slogan says.

Theres plenty of nice perfectly looking websites in the world, why make another one.

The www.amigaos.net website looks great! The best looking Amiga related website of late (not taking anything away from AmigaWorld.net though).

I like it! Good timing for a site like this with the AmigaOne 500 available (almost?) & AmigaOne X1000 by Christmas/January 2012 plus OS4.1 now has USB 2.0 etc.

Really nice!

The change log was a very interesting read!
The utilities section could very much be extended with more stuff. Just a bit hard to choose since there are thousands of utilities.

Yes I was joking, but honestly Moobunny is both good and bad. If you ignore the moob spammer and occasional drive by ******, there can be good conversation there. If I was a company, no I would not link to it

But seriously, Hyperion spelled Kommunity wrong. Fleecy would not be pleased

Great work everyone involved, the website looks great and is very professional.

Just hope it is kept up to date and the list of software in each section grows! (i.e. games - Quake 2, Shogo etc etc).

Cant wait to get my Sam460 for Christmas, although I REALLY REALLY want a A1X1000.

Looks superb. This is the sort of thing we have been waiting for for far too long - a vital piece of the comeback puzzle. When it looks as good as it does though the wait was worth it.

Full marks to the designers but seeing as it involves djnick I fail to see how it could have been anything other than a success.

The trick will be keeping it up to date. We are lucky to have you guys in the community.

Thank you, guys.

I am very happy how it appears at the end. George coded 120% the same as I drew in Photoshop. Whole team was fantastic and now we have great start for new Amiga, my childhood computer :)

Now it is up to system admin to implement as much software and present AmigaOS as best as it can.

All best to you all.
Nick
