| Ikir: I never promote MorphOS. I promoted OS4Emu a few days ago since it's a cool thing to get the communities together and get more users for each application available (DVPlayer and Epistula in that perticular thread).
I never promote MorphOS. It's not my cup of tea.
alaban: "IIRC this card (highly supposed from UDTech was presented as a high end model from Troika, nerver as the Amy05 replacent..."
Thanks for the info. Didn't know they were working on more than one model. Guess I'll judge the UDTech board whenever it becomes available then. 7448 is a cool CPU. Last edited by ironfist on 12-Sep-2006 at 05:49 PM.

| This sounds like quite a nice board, quite clearly targeted as a uA1 replacement. If the pricing is right, it should be able to coexist peacefully with the SoC-based boards and the GHz+ boards (A500, A3000, A4000!). WTF, good marketing?!?
Three things I'd like to see still:
1. Benchmark vs A1 XE and uA1 (it should give an idea of Tundra vs MAI performance, especially vs G4 XE) 2. Form factor: ATX, uATX, mITX, BTX, ... ? 3. Price!
I agree with the guys who say STOP FIDDLING WITH IT AND SELL IT ALREADY!
Looking forward to tomorrow's bit of news... |

Now please ignore any and all requests for changes to the design and ship it. I keep having this nightmare where a beta Amy board attacks me but every night it is a different revision. I had the same nightmares when the BoXeR project was going on. |
LOL, and I fully agree with you guys...
Fixing the known bugs, getting it to work properly, betatesting, porting OS4 including drivers, documentation, getting the whole package ready to ship - there are so many things that still have to be done and that could go wrong in the process. Things rarely work out as planned (just look at the past of the ACK and Troika projects). I think people who hope to have "Amy in their hands in two/three months" are just looking forward to get disappointed yet another time. |

Is this real (can't imagine since this chip does IMHO need more throughput than PCI can deliver, doesn't it?)? |

Real?! Of course it's real. Check the link. I found several companies making PCI cards from this Radeon model. _________________ /Harry

With enough memory on the board, there is not that much need to feed that many data thru the PCI bus. So, could well work out. And 266MB/sec in PCI66 isn't that bad (at least faster what the A1 does ATM). Doesn't help you for non accelerated alpha channel, though. That goes thru the bus.
The only thing what I'm thinking is, such a small board would be nice for a low profile machine (low profile in the mechanical sence). Thus, a 90° slot(s) would be very nice.
--- no -- don't change anything, oops - just get it done --- sorry. _________________ AmigaOne XE G3/933/VIA/FM801/R200 (fixed), G3SE/600/Voodoo3/Sil680/RTL8139/SBLive! (noiseless!) µA1-MK2/G3/933/R200/CMI8738 XE/G4 (broken 7450/800)

| Hi,
A couple of quick clarifications.
The graphics card slot supports 33 or 66 MHZ PCI cards only. There is no AGP support as the Tundra TSI107 does not support AGP. The CPU is soldered to the motherboard, this saves $30 off the price of a of the motherboard, compared to using Megarray or similar connector/card.
Remember, this is the low cost entry level system, some compromises had to be made to keep the costs down. Think of this like the A500 of the range, the higher spec systems will follow.
Don't worry we will not be making major changes to the design, our focus is on development/delivery of the current version of Amy05.
Bye,
Ian |

| With the constant dropping in price of LCD monitors, more people are using dual-monitor systems. Since even PCIe motherboards usually only have one socket dedicated to graphics cards, PCI graphics cards are going to stay with us for a while still. |

| I suppose Amiga INC gives out licences when they have a prototype in their hands and not when someone says he has a prototype and not faster ? If that is the case, is their such kind of a "gentlemen agreement" or maybe even something on paper that makes your investments in your designs worth it ? Or are there also other plans besides OS4 for Amy,05 and higher...
My excuses when this is all answered in other topics but I do not follow them alone , let alone you can browse them all to find your answers. _________________ - Proud Member Of The Belgian Amigaclub Since 2003 -

Note that nearly 3 years ago, Fleecy went even so far as to say that a license agreement would require that the device is actually available "and selling in numbers that provide a business opportunity."

Given the date when this was posted, one might think that this statement should be pretty much bogus right now, but on the other hand, we haven't heard otherwise so far. I guess we all have to wait until Wayne provides us with the answers from Bill. Ok, enough OT-discussion. |
