"Added value" is that, for example, you don't get the ADF only, but you get a nice package including the manuals and the reference cards. Also, AFAICT, you can't get DOTC II (CDTV) and the CD32 versions on Cinemaware's site. _________________ Proud Amigan since 1987 Owner of various Commodore and a SAM440ep\OS4.1FE See them on http://retro.furinkan.org/

Whereas whining about whiners, on the other hand, is just about as grown up as it's possible to look. Last edited by Robert on 29-Jan-2013 at 10:23 PM.

It is interesting how they tend to return your calls when you can point to an already successfully executed agreement under your belt... _________________ ExecSG Team Lead

You mean you haven't yet updated your X1000 with the various updates issued at the registered users' download site?
Do note that you will need to do that, and especially apply update 6 with the AmiUpdate integration and download and install all updates it will offer you, before you are able to use these games. |
| I should probably apologise for the way I worded this. The thing is, I'm not much of a games player, but during beta testing of this games release I have enjoyed how everything was set up to work as simple as possible. Even I could manage to start RunInUAE from its AmiDock icon, open a game drawer and double-click the icon. And that whole setup is what needs the latest updates to work (identifying and having those released beforehand was part of what the beta testing helped ensure in the first place ).
So the games may well be available to all registered OS 4 users, but the slick setup is only there for the ones who have "kept up", which was what I had in mind above.

To say I've been busy with other things is an understatement. My poor X1000 is gathering dusts along with the rest of my computers because I've been tied up with work and family matters. I still have a PCIe-PCI adapter and a Catweasel card sat ontop of the case that need to be fitted.
Hopefully next week I'll catch up. | Should be worth it. And at least you now have a few hints about how to ensure you get all the required updates installed.
Best regards,

| OK now! Thats what we need! Vulcan of course don't forget them Point is to collect more and more software that you can and start some kind of migration to new OS, from 68k Amigas to PPC Classics and next gen. hardware with OS4.1.6 This kind of re-disrtibution is right step forward.. Maybe Hyperion can talk about rights for Amiga version of Wings remake, or some kind of deal- some work on PC/Mac version for Amiga licence. Same thing for other big games from other developers, and then bundle it with Os 4.2 or 4.3 _________________ F1 Srbija

A factual correction: There are *no* games for download as ADF disk images, contrary to what the non-OS4 users on the first two pages seem to think.Last edited by ChrisH on 30-Jan-2013 at 09:33 AM.

I think ChrisH is talking about the packs just produced for AmigaOS.
Of course you can get just the .adfs from the Cinemaware site! Last edited by ddni on 30-Jan-2013 at 12:08 PM.

Hmmm. Chris might be wrong about ADFs, but I think he's perfectly able to express himself. He said:
Quote:

I guess "as *ADF* *disk* *Images*" is clear enough to be perfectly distinguishable from game packs for AmigaOS 4.1 |
