Edited/added the the news item slightly to reflect new changes, server uptime, and moved back to the top of the stack, so hopefully people realize the patched SDK is now available, and the server is online again, woo hoo

Did my first test compile, and it ends up in error.

Something about sdl_mixer missing a reference to _t_SDL_OpenAudio (or similar)

when linking with CLIB2, it shows me
/home/tfrieden/source/SDL_Mixer-1.2.6/mixer.c: 294 (and same missing reference)

Also, gcc complained about it could'nt find the SDL-part that lies in the common-folder.

Was this fixed with the update?

Btw, thanks for all work.

@Olle

Don't you need to compile whit

gcc file.c -lSDL -lSDL_mixer -o myfile.exe

(I have not tryd, as I'm not working on SDL stuff right now)

The split version does not have the contrib part. Could we see a split version of the full SDK? So the 100mb split into parts. Please.

@Olle

download the patch (it's only 12kB) and try?

@Rogue

Much better. Now I get a few hundred kB per second. All is good, at least until I have had a chance to test update3 and find out if my AmigaOne is still freezing up

Hehe, and after half a year, you'll start complaining it's too slow.

I have a ADSL line here with 768 downstream and 128 upstream. So uploading the SDK took two hours :S

Well, I'm pretty happy with my 8mbit down and 1mbit up and NO I'm not lording it over those with slower connections because we have much faster in sweden as well.

Would have had faster anyway but there are some limitations on speed based on distance from a telephone station. Maybe when the next generation shows up.

@Coder

I mean how could it be possible they suddenly removed ADSL from that spot? That could not happen, right?

Unless of course they knew you would be coming back!

All this moving around, you some sort of gypsey?

Argh...

Remnants of SDL_mixer as shared library...

Originally, I intended to make all SDL related libraries shared libraries. We have a tool that can turn a static library into a shared library.

Unfortunately, there was a problem with SDL_mixer, which turned out to be a problem with direct cross-calls: The library must be compiled with -mbaserel to be able to be turned into a shared library. However, this means that to use code from them, you need to set up an environment pointer. The environment pointer is automatically set up for library entry points, but SDL audio does cross-calls without these environment pointers correctly set up.

Therefore, we decided to leave them static for now and publish the tool to do the shared library conversion later. The missing symbol is a remnant of this, probably because I used some modified code of SDL_mixer, even though I wanted to start from a clean unpack of the original code.

Uh, did I mention that I was in a tremendous hurry to finish the SDK

Anyway, I'l make a corrected version available on OS4depot.net later on...

Could you send me a detailed explanation of what's happening ? I'll forward that to the os4 developer list.

Thanks.

That is why we only told a few people. I mean someone has got to pick us up from the airport.

Looks like it. Always on the road and always on the move. At least we will not move again for the next 4 years. But I am sure we will be travelling a lot between Holland and Thailand in those 4 years. But cheese country is the homebase for the moment. In about a week it would be time to hit the road and still so many things to do. Most important my A1 of course. I just hope it will make the trip.

Yep, and it is quite exptected things like this happens, no worries m8.

I look forward for the corrected version, but no need to hurry.

Thanks again for all the work.

Guys, can you test if MiniGL demos in sdk:local/documentation/minigl/examples work? I'm asking because my setup (mA1-C) is freezing with these new demos. I would appreciate if people with Warp3D capable cards would give a spin. Thanks.
