"AmigaOS 4 EMU10KX AHI driver Supports Creative Soundblaster Audigy2 Boards."

With the latest update from Martin Blom to the Creative SB Live driver, it is now possible to use the Creative Soundblaster Audigy1 & 2 sound cards on the AmigaOne.
Davy Wentzler also wrote an AHI driver for the Terratec 512i. More soundcard drivers are in the works.

That more or less takes care of all the consumer audio problems. Hopefully the next cards to get support will be cards from Digital Audio, Lynx studio or Turtlebeach.

But anyway, great job you guys!

Well then, that settles it.

I'll be buying the Terratec The 512i makes Creative cards look like Fisher-Price in comparison.

I have an M-Audio "Delta44" card in my PC. It's the best soundcard I've ever had, with a fantastic signal/noise ratio. I'd love to be able to put it in my A1 one day. Unfortunately, support for professional soundcards very much depends on whether the manufacturer discloses the particular hardware documentation.

Regards,
Trixie

Are the Sound Blaster Live models already supported?

This is wonderful! Finally I can put in my A2 in my A1

Any news about supporting the ieee1394 (FireWire) on the Audigy2? Would be sweet to be able to use a DV cam in AmigaOS. Perhaps a port of Kino ?

No firewire in OS4.0. It needs a lot of work. If it's on an Audigy2 or a PCI card doesn't matter that much IMHO.

About the more 'pro' cards: we'll need a new audio system first to make use of the multiple ins and outs, so it's no use just yet.

I had a choice of buying a SoundBlaster Live or the Audigy2. The Audigy 2 was not supported yet, but I took a chance that Davy would be able to get it working for me through the betatesting process. Didn't take him long. I was up and listening in less than a day I was the first, I might add! (cackles)

I like the fact that the Audigy 2 has a firewire port, even though it's 99% likely I'll never use it. Soundcard/Firewire is a weird combo, but a great way to save a port if I ever actually need one.

So AHI supports just one stereo input and output?

But how about onboard sound? Is this fixed in U-Boot 1.0?

Basically, yes. You can fiddle a bit with the units 0 to 3, but progs like AE4 use the music unit for obvious reasons.

First things first!

The ac97 doesn't get to the ready state (I tried under OS4 too), so either we don't know something about the VIA, or there is a hw fault.

Guess I wont be using the onboard sound anyway but it's a bit sad that an onboard device doesn't work on a board being that expensive.

Guess I will just go for the Terratec card when i get my A1.

What are the capabilities of the onboard sound? If it worked that is!
