I managed to see the image before it vanished, the link is not fake, perhaps the webspace just couldn't cope with the traffic.

If whoever made the image emails it to me, then I'll gladly host it for them...

That's what I was thinking. Many of those type of hosting sites do not allow you to receive high amounts of traffic. Usually if they detect it the site is "shut off" for a period of time. And with something like screenshots that people could be downloading, that could easily use up thier allotted daily bandwidth.

It would be nice to confirm it one way or the other.

"Hello my name is Thomas van Spitjoud. Sorry I am writing in English but my German is really very bad.
Since a few weeks I'm working on a Civilisation - Call To Power2-Port for AmigaOS4 and now I have a first Alpha Version. Its still very buggy but runs very fast on my AmigaOne with G4 running AmigaOS4. Soon I hope I can release a Beta-Version in 2 or 3 weeks, so everybody can see it working.
I hope you're interessted and looking forward to some feednack.

He put his email on www.amiga-news.de/ aswell. I wont post it here though He probably get enough mail today...

I hope this is true, but unfortunately it is far too easy to hack together screenshots. Even demos can be hacked together (remember the original Myst demo that was actually a CanDo stack?), and as this is coming from a (AFAICT) previously unknown developer I'm very sceptical.

Chris

Error 404 means the page wasn't found. It would give a different error if the problem was due to excessive traffic.

Well the source code was released and is available subject to some licensing terms here: http://ctp2files.apolyton.net/source/

I don't see why it can't be ported. Even if this screenshot is a fake, the opportunity is availabe for anyone dedicated enough to do the port.

It looks convincing, but then it is *really* simple to crop and paste an image into an image of a Workbench window...
The easiest way for us to find out whether this is a fake or not would be for someone to see if this guy has access to OS4 beta.
