@ikir

There are a couple of demo movies (Mpegs) on the site that you can watch which is way better than still pictures. I had a look earlier and the game looks promising.

Quoting a PPC Crash requester only helps if you include your complete memory dump :)

For debug output which helps to find a bug you need to provide sushi-output. With sushi-output the developer can actually find the source-line which caused the crash.

Be sure you got the newest version of Warp3d and warpos.
otherwise run snoopdos while loading and send me the logfile.
Hm and be shure you got a graphicscard that is supported by warp3d.
Some guys with a peg mailed me that the engine doesnt work with their Radeon Cards, so i had to tell them that warp3d doesnt support radeon-ati cards.

Hmm if there will be a AmigaOs4.0 version for Bppc available (a beta will also do this work:))) then yes;) Our main Progger also got an Amigaone but without Os4.0 yet. What we cant promise is, that we also make a MOS version because
1. it doesnt work here (v0.9)
2. we support Amiga:)
3. amiga rulez

There will, but after the AmigaOne- and the CSPPC-version.

This (at least the prerelease) will enable the main coder to do an OS 4 version soon then. With the prerelease there will be an SDK and compiler tools also. Theoretically one even could use the cross-compiler... but of course there is also a native version of the tools.

Is it intended for the engine to become more sophisticated? I do not wish to knock their efforts, but this looks like an engine from 1997 (and incomplete at that). Look at that lamp for example in the screenshots section, it has no luminosity at all...

please notice that:
1 this is still an alpha version of the gfx engine
2 the screenshoots/videos we made there was captured on a 166Mhz ppc so to much detailed objects would burn the speed down.
3. all pictures are example pictures only to test the new functions because of that we call them alphapictures:)
but sure you also cant compare our engine with an quake3 2GHZ+ engine..

Well if hardware is what is holding it back, hopefully the AmigaONE will remedy that...

soft: its just a preview! , the engine is in development all the time.

other than that, i know of many games with older engines than 97 that has better playbility than the latest 3d games on PC!

the day people on amiga will put gfx infront of playbility again, thats the day i will say amiga games suck :).

(that happend in the amiga's glory days, came quite alot of games that looked amazing and played like crap (microcosm is a good example ))

soft: amigaone wont remedy much really , we need a new update of functions etc in warp3d , but yes u can maximize all in w3d with what we have and hope for good speeds but still, it will be oldish compared to vertex shading and so on which OGL2.x has bla bla..

point is, take a step at the time, first OS4 then the NOVA api (sequel to w3d) :)

cheerios :)

I thought SOMS used software rendering atm, in which case, a faster CPU would make a huge difference. Am I wrong?

sorry no software rendering thats why you need a 3d graphics board,
but sure if you got a faster cpu you can render more detailed objects and with more standart ram you can have better textures and so on.
