Software News   Software News : GoldED Studio AIX editor updated
posted by dietmar on 22-Feb-2004 0:46:58 (1372 reads)
Trial versions of the new SP15 release can be downloaded on the GoldED web site (servicepacks for registered users will appear over the weekend, including updates for microgolded). The complete trial includes a preconfigured C/C++ development environment with popular free Amiga compilers: gcc for AmigaOS, gcc for MorphOS and vbcc. The small trial is optimized for downloading. More news and download link:

http://golded.dietmar-eilert.de/news.htm
http://home.arcor.de/dtmrelrt/projects/news.htm

Changes:

+ gcc installations now have a "shared" gg tree for user-installed files which will not be affected by compiler upgrades
+ updated/more gcc packages (less, perl, ...)
+ option to disable internal font dialog to enforce use of system fonts
+ option to set user interface metrics automatically
+ microgolded integrated (single-file emergency editor)
+ configurable list of most recently used files in menu
+ all standard requesters can be switched from reqtools to asl: font, screenmode, files, string requester
+ improved XPK handling (now a per-file setting in the property dialog of a document; saving a file preserves encryption, password and compression)
+ improved font handling
+ installation optimized for downloading
+ first-steps button after installation to get people started with gcc
+ bugfixes

Hmmm, I'm looking for a decent development environment, perhaps this is the answer I've been looking for.

(hint)

Now, if only I could get the demo download link working from your page...

(/hint)

;)

There is a pop-up forced upon me by the provider which obviously confuses some browers. In that case, you will just have to enter the URL manually (copy the link, paste it into the address field). For example, the link of the complete download with all those compilers is

ftp://ftp.uni-paderborn.de/ftp/aminet/pub/priv/completetrial22feb04.lzx

I still couldn't get that link working. A page opens, but it's just a blank white screen here...

As for the link you pasted, there must be something wrong with it because it doesn't work at all. However, if the file is available on Aminet then it shouldn't be too hard for me to find it.
I'll check it out in the morning, when I'm a bit more awake :)

Thanks

It's wrong because this forum adds a http:// before it (or maybe it was me, dunno, it's a bit late ;) Don't click on it, copy the link into your browser minus the http:// part, ie. ftp://etc.... As to the blank page, I have no clue what is causing your problems. You must have frames, working meta refresh and - for the files page - javascript.

Now I have ;) Sloppy programming, <noscript> tag not teminated. The page should now be visible in all its glory. Does anybody know why ibrowse sometimes ignores the vertical alignment in the first cell of a row, is there a work-around?
