Say, why is Mr. Frieden playing games when he should be busy coding?

Seriously, this is really exciting! Maybe it's about time I reclaimed some of my little brothers christmas pressies...

(I wonder if Fate of Atlantis will run better through UAE or this? Aaaw, what the hey, might as well try them both, if I've still got the game lying around somewhere...team path in one, solo path in the other. )

By the way, what are the most recent titles that will run with ScummVM?

Well, a good question, but the port was rather simple. Took me an hour. ScummVM 0.6.0 is about two days old

The new 0.6.0 version plays "Flight of the Amazon Queen" and "Beneath a Steel Sky" (both for download on www.scummvm.org) and both parts of the "Broken Sword" series.

And how long did the...ehm..."beta-testing" take?

And according to here, http://www.scummvm.org/compatibility_stable.php, Curse of Monkey Island compatibility is in the works...tehe...I guess I'm gonna have to get my brother a GBA title or something, to compensate him for stealing his PC-game...

@Step

Is that a banana picker in your pocket, or are you...oh, it's a banana picker.

I'm really looking forward to testing this on my AmigaOne. Wonder how Monkey Island 3 will run...

Very nice to see that we will have a lot of programs to play with on OS4 when it comes out.

The ScumVM 0.6.0 port
The UAE port by Richard Drummond
The Mame port by Steffen from Hyperion
The Frodo port also by Steffen from Hyperion

Keep up the good work

Then all we need now is a decent browser and some office-programs.

I can?t wait to get OS4 for my AOne

There's been a fantastic collection of news this week. How about we round it off with, say, an announcement at the AmiGBG (this weekend IIRC) that the OS4 pre-release is shipping?

Chris

Hmmm, some more Emulator ports by me to add to the list :) (Though most of them are still missing Sound and Joystick Support). WarpSNES and TGEmu, among others.

Does it uses SDL or custom Amiga routines (as Amiga/MorphOS ports) ?

Regards,
Leo.

@ Skyraker

interesting question. i've been digging and lifted this straigth from the website

"ScummVM is a 'virtual machine' for several classic graphical point-and-click adventure games. It is designed to run: Adventure Soft's Simon the Sorcerer 1 and 2; Revolution's Beneath A Steel Sky, Broken Sword 1 and Broken Sword 2; Flight of the Amazon Queen; and games based on LucasArts' SCUMM (Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion) system. SCUMM is used for many games, including Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max and more."

check out http://www.scummvm.org/ for more info

cheers

This is SDL. It was just a quick port to get a nifty screenshot

It's fast enough to play the games, too.
