Software News   Software News : Two New SDL /GPL Shooters Out For Amiga OS4
posted by Toaks on 22-Oct-2004 12:25:41 (4496 reads)
The Two Games are: Powermanga and Barrage.

Powermanga (Deluxe Galaga styled) beeing the most known of the 2 and this game is maybe one of the most colorfull SDL games around. Heaps of weapons and levels makes this a shoot em up game any Amiga user will fall in love with.

Readme:
Powermanga is an arcade 2D shoot-em-up game with 41 levels and more than 200 sprites.
It runs in 320x200 or 640x400 pixels, with Window mode or full screen and support for 8, 15, 16, 24 and 32 bpp.

Powermanga can be found here (os4depot):
PowerManga

Barrage is a Cannon fodder/SmashTV esque type of game:

Barrage is a rather violent action game with the objective to kill and destroy as many targets as possible within 3 minutes. You control a gun that may either fire small or large grenades at soldiers, jeeps and tanks. Targets are fast paced and require careful aiming as it takes half a second to reload the gun. Additionally you have to keep an eye on your ammo and reload in time.

Useful to kill some minutes of idle time.

Barrage can be found here os4Depot): Barrage

NOW , START SHOOTING!

What Joystick should I buy for the AmigaOne and which port do I plug it into, the I/O port or the port on the soundcard?

P.S. Loving the games, keep them coming!

@toaks

Works great on Wos on cvppc @320... @640 I get scanlines instead of crisp,high-ish res graphics...

not so great on PIV/P96. everything's blue and slow.

doodohead: well i couldnt even get it to run in highres (640x400) for some bizarre reason (Powermanga) so if u could tell me the line i need to use.....

i tried this " --640 , and this --640x400 "

Btw switch to window/fullscreen with "F" inside the game.

cheers

When I first install PowerManga it runs fine, bit the next time I try to run it I only get a window with:

Quote:
TLKPFMTLKTLKTLKV: Unknown command
TLKPFMTLKTLKTLKV failed return code 10

If I re-install it works fine, but again the next time I run it I get the above error. Anybody know why this is?
