| Wow, really good news!
Now lets see if the iBrowse team can see that call and raise!

Could you please report what exactly happens and what version of the prerelease you are running, and if you were able to get past it?

| It runs on my A1G4XE with AOS4 beta (prerelease update). It is faster than iBrowse.
But it crashed when I tried to login at Amigaworld.net _________________ A computerworld without MS products and Windows! | It runs on my G4/800 A1 as well but when i come to login to Amigaworld it says welcome but does not actually login.
Plus i have to accept cookies here thru Aweb but not Ibrowse-what gives? I also get the grim reaper when quitting. _________________ A1/G4 1GHZ

| Okey I'm writing this from AWeb, so, so far so good.
But this beta still shows small white boxes around the menus am I the only one with this problem?

I had exactly the same even tho I have the very latest (up to date complete with last nights updates) build of OS4!
After a reboot it decided it would let me install.. strange. _________________ SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card.

Any idea how you can get SSL support with it? Or do I have to compile that in manually?

Yes I agree there, but it is very unstable (in my opinion) and I have about 4 Grim Reapers after I quit it.
If I hit the "continue" button in Grim Reaper it gives me another, and another so in the end I have to hit the "kill" button. After that my whole OS4 seems unstable and I find I have to reboot my AmigaOne
Page rendering is really fast but the way it handles cached pages is a real pain (as always was in AWeb), found myself having to delete the cache entirely before I could get websites to update correctly or to log into Amigaworld.
Good effort but needs sorting/fine tuning, but I will be sticking with IBrowse for now _________________ SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card.

| I too get a few grimreapers after I quit it, choosing the kill option, seems to fix it. The cache is another matter, I solved the problem by setting all cache-values to 0 (off).
The internal image-plugins seems to be 256 colour only, is this correct, no true colour? Web-browsing seems stable though. _________________ Site admins are people too..pooff!

Yes, I have the white boxes too.
Quiting Aweb seems to be very unstable. I actually got a recoverable alert. Shouldn't it have been trapped by Grim Reaper? |

| AWeb seems stable here, using internal decoders. And quite fast, too! The only trouble I had was with gfx, which got corrupted on all the screens (even wb's one) after a while. I eventually found out that it happens with 32bit screens, switching to a 16bit one solved the problem. Thanks very much for this version, now we finally have a native, fast and fully working browser.
P.S. I've noted now the white boxes around amigaworld's boxes, too. And it once crashed when I exit. Otherwise, everything else goes well.

| For those of you with stability problems: Try increasing stack a LOT. Like 500000. After I did that I haven't had any crashes with it. I also increased number of simultaneous connections and disk operations. Result? Fastest browser I've ever used. |

White boxes. . . yes. I have those in Voyager, too. But instability, no. I have now increased the stack and the number of network connections and disk reads. But even without doing that, I didn't have any of the problems anyone has mentioned here.
I've never been a fan of AWeb in the past. But this is NICE. REALLY FAST compared to the other two browsers.
BTW, quoting here at AW doesn't work any better in AWeb than it does in IBrowse or Voyager.
But this is now my browser of choice. Too bad there isn't a way to import bookmarks from Voyager or IBrowse (CManager)

| Hi all,
i installed it just now and I'm typing in with AWeb. It's so fast! No problems with pitures either. Very stable so far.
Just it couldn't find the directory AWeb3 in Envarc: to install the OS4 settings! I had to make this dir manually!
Give it a try! You won't be using the emulated IBrowse anymore.
Oh! BTW, secure sites don't work!
