Software News   Software News : AlienBlaster & Formido GPL / SDL Os4 Released
posted by Toaks on 4-Nov-2004 11:40:44 (4731 reads)
Cyborg released two new SDL games released based on requests here at Amigaworld in the SDL threads.

Both games are Shoot em up's!.

Formido for AmigaOS4.
(Static Top-view shooter for 1 player)

Formido is one of those games, where you are loaded with some guns
and you go shooting different things. 'Things' in this case are big,
ugly, - not green though - alien insects. The idea is to kill as many
of those ####s as possible. Eventually they will overcome you, but
struggle as long as you can. There are some power-ups to aid you in
your honorable quest. Keep in mind, that those critters are rather
tough and generally do nasty things when in close range of any
player-characters.

Info And Screenshots is located here...

AmigaOs4 Version is at OS4Depot

AlienBlaster for AmigaOS4.
(Vertical Shoot'Em Up for 1 or 2 players)

This game is simmilar to the games like Raiden and 1942/flying shark etc.

Your mission is simple:
Stop the invasion of the aliens and BLAST them!

Info and Screenshots is located here

OS4 Version of Alienblaster is located Here (at OS4Depot)

Have Fun

Some time ago I found an interesting game, but AFAIK it's no SDL: Beats of Rage, a beat'em'up engine with a remake of the great old Mega Drive game Streets of Rage aka Bare Knuckle.

Homepage: http://senileteam.segaforums.com/

Various mods with various kinds of beat'em'ups exist, BTW

If someone can port mupen64, which the author says would be simple for any OS
which supports SDL, I can verify it works, tested successfully Xtreme-G XG2, Wipeout64, Gex64 Enter the Gecko,
Jet Force Gemini, MAHJONG Master, WaveRace64, Wetrix, Banjo Tooie, Diddy Kong Racing,
Bust-A-Move 3, Destruction Derby, and Virtual Pool 64...Xtreme-G is a real keeper...can believe
Amiga users would enjoy this emulator...in OS4 SuperBundle!

@Mr.Return

I discover Beats of Rage thanks to this forum, is a very good game, but in this moment i don't know if OS4 is "mature" for this type of game

Take a look
