| Hi miksuh
you forgot to quote this:
"FryingPan is not a freeware program any longer. Sad but true; I could feel the interest in the program, but I didn't receive any feedback I requested; Times have changed... unfortunately."
now . . .an Amiga coder has to receive goods in 2 ways:
money (you know some of us has to eats at least twice aday)
or feedbacks (well apreciated for the soul).
Evidentely he, the author (as many of other Amiga coders) has received none of the above.
I'm with Toaks . . . . coders are tired to works for nothing

| @all complaining about the registration method
Many here and in other forums do complain about paying for any drive one has. Lets say you do pay 30 ¤ that are 3-5 licenses. Which is OK! If the prog runs correctly under AOS4 with my Plextor CD Bruner and Medion DVD Burner I will buy it. Some are saying that with any bought CD burner you do get Nero for free. But that's not true. With the drive you do pay Nero. Which is on the other hand a featureless version of the full version of Nero. Plus it only works with that drive. If you install the drive in your Amiga you have payed Nero and are unable to use it! If you buy a second drive you still do pay Nero, and still can't use it! With Frying Pan you do pay 2x too, but you can use it on your Amiga.
So stop complaining. OTOH 10-30¤ is nothing compared to a visit at the hairdresser, disco or restaurant...
You don't need to change you burner every month. And if you are burning 100s CDs/DVD a homeuser burner is the wrong way to do it! For such quantities industrial burners are needed, which do allow such quantities. Homeusers normally need some CD/DVD to burn (backup etc), higher quantities looks very much like pirating.
Come on let's buy this prog, we don't have many Amiga coders left, who do such big progs! _________________ A computerworld without MS products and Windows! As it happens, I've needed to change a faulty cd/dvd twice during the past years. I also got 0.6 TB of harddiskspace that I need to backup now and then to cd or dvd. So what you're suggesting, is that I get myself an industrial cd/dvd-press

Que? I've got 40 cd-rw's that I'm burning over and over again, and a few dvd+rw's, it can be quite a lot of burning-sessions, yes, but what that has to do with pirating, I can't see. _________________ Site admins are people too..pooff!

| While I would agree that the registration practise used by Tomasz for Frying Pan is a little bit of a pain and is subject to hassle even for registered users if they choose to upgrade their drive or whatever, I do feel that it's the ONLY way that he can ensure the program doesn't become yet another casualty of piracy. At least this way he's guaranteed that the only users of Frying Pan are those who have actually registered and paid for the product.
Personally, I'd rather see Tomasz continue AmigaOS development for this product with the current registration policy than discontinue it completely because too many people are pirating the software.
Besides that, I don't feel that his registration charges are at all unreasonable.

| brianH: the exit problem is only on os4 aned it happens on both 1200 and a1 and its a enforcer hit which u can see even in 3.x if you have sashimi or simmilar stuff up.
Grimreaper in os4 has the job to report everything it can and well it can be annoying to see it appear but u can quit it as normal anyway.... just a tad "HMM SHOULD I REBOOT feelin" _________________ See my blog and collection website! . https://www.blog.amigaguru.com

That's less than 100 CDs a number which normal drives should burn. But I meant several 100 CDs. No homeuser has to burn such an amount. If yes it's commercial purpose or pirated CDs! And normal drives aren't supposed to burn such quantities.
I was speaking of CDs not sessions. So if you use rewritable CDs you do have much more sessions, that's true, but normally you don't burn a complete CD than, but you are adding some MBs. Last edited by mbilla on 13-Nov-2004 at 11:53 PM.

| Doesn't matter to me if its piracy or not.
I do not rent software.
I buy it.
Registration is why I use windows 2000 instead of XP.
The main reason anyway.
They can take thier registrations and ............... .. ........
Furthermore, Amiga is in bad enough shape already without crap like this. Last edited by Mountain_Myst on 15-Nov-2004 at 01:32 AM. Last edited by Mountain_Myst on 15-Nov-2004 at 01:31 AM.
