I've recorded a small video of OS4 in action on my BPPC.

Please keep in mind I was using a digicam and holding it with my hand before you start flooding me with complaints

No need to be sceptical at all. Several MOS developers have had MorphOS (1.3 .. 1.4) on CSPPC/BPPC for 18 months that I can recall.

Of course, if you say yoy are sceptical about it's release then that's another thing

On topic.....cool to see OS4 runing on a Blizzard card and it's not exactly painful even without JIT.

Some of the stuff he/she does looks kind of slow, compared to my Peg1.

Cool to see AOS4 on BPPC (as I recall, I didn´t see any proof it was running
on a BPPC). ;)

If you would like to point your web browser of choice at www.intuitionbase.com/osscreen.php you'll find a screenshot of the very same workbench showing the output of report tool... Thats about the best proof I can offer unless youd like to pop round here and I can show you in real life it in action...

Though if certain people were to turn up they might be leaving on crutches.

I would kill my own mother for a pre-release version of AmigaOS4 for my BlizzPPC.
I have been waiting for 4 years. And every new year i slip a little longer from the Amiga comunity. So sad

nickman: i know what you mean but go for an a1 if u can.

Anyway i belived os4 Bppc was announced last year and not 4 years ago and infact it clearly said it wouldnt be pri one and it would come later than the a1 + csppc os4...so lets see how it all turns out...

That may be so. But i have still waited for AmigaOS 4 or should i say a new version of AmigaOS for atleast 4 years.

And the micro A1 is tempting. But i still feel that my A1200 would do until later. And then get a new miggy. I just want to be able to use my miggy again. Without 10000000 patches and speed fixes and so on.

@Toaks

Simple mathematics my dear:

MorphOS 'Classic PPC' (1.3+/1.4beta) was available internally prior to
the Amiwest 2003 release of MOS1.4. That was 17 months ago minimum.

(If you want to be pedantic Pegasos MOS 1.4 official release was Sept
2003 and not Amiwest.)

anyway....I digress and I'm trying to avoid OT posting

That's not the impression I got from your postings over at ANN.lu. There you argued that you want Hyperion to release daily builds of AmigaOS4 to the public, regardless if it would cause alot of patching in order to get it all to work. Quote:

Peg1: 600 MHz 750CXe L2 cache, 100 MHz frontside bus speed and 9 ns SDRAM
BlizzardPPC: 166 MHz 603e, no L2 cache 66 MHz FSB, 60 or 70 ns EDO RAMS

That's not really comparable, isn't it ?

Edit: Just saw in the system information: It's 66 MHz FSB for the Blizzard... Also note that the Blizzard has to do several waitstates to access main memory

Oh come ON!!! why why why continue this...

I wasn't serious in that comment that why i put a smily after it AND typed it in BIG LETTERS.I tried to explain it, If that didn't got through then i'm sorry..I'll try one last time again. If you read my comments thinking about i'm friendly and loving amiga and is very positive then maybe you get the picture. English is not my native language so it's not exactly easy to explain everything. I was laughing when i typed it and hoped some ppl would laugh with me. Instead i got #### thrown at me as if i was angry or something or trying to provoke someone. Don't get this.. Everyone thinks everyone is evil or trying to do evil things.

What should i do then ?? #### all this and leave the amiga scene for ever ?? i'm so fed up with this anyway.. say it and i'm gone. why bother....

Niclas once happy today now more sad.

Hey man, take it easy. Didn´t you see my smiley? I was just joking around, nitpicking if
so will. But I never doubted that it was a BPPC version of OS4. And once again, great video,
as I thought OS4 would be alot slower on such a "slow" PPC. Cheers and happy new year! :)

Well, damn... things got mixed up. I was comparing the MOS1.5 video with the responsivnes of my Peg1, MOS1.4 and it looked kind of slow.

Regarding the OS4 video on BPPC, its actually faster than I thought it would be on such card.

@Nickman

OK, let's sort it out in Swedish over PM then, shall we? For the record, I think neither one of us ever had the intention to insult or provoce anyone. These kind of misunderstandings are simply bound to happen sooner or later when you're trying to express emotions and hidden meanings such as irony and sarcasm through a written forum. I just hope we can sort it out before anyone gets too emotional about it.

Compared to the MOS on Cyberstorm it feels... slow. And we aren't talking about Pegasos, are we!?
