Hardware News   Hardware News : BareBones DIY EZTower-Z4 kits for the A1200 available for free!
   posted by Eyetech on 19-May-2005 18:11:16 (8700 reads)
We're moving premises this summer and still have around 100 brand new EZTower-Z4 kits to dispose of before then - they just have to go!

These are units for self conversion complete with the custom back and side panels necessary for making it suitable for fitting an A1200. To clear the space we are giving them away free on a first come, first served basis. All we ask is that you pay 12.95 (inc UK VAT) for the fitted ATX power supply unit (plus carriage etc as calculated by our webshop).

Further details are given here

Cheers

Alan

Bummer.

I hope that Eyetech won't just toss them all out if they can't get rid of them. Why not just donate the lot to a local Amiga user's group instead? Heck, I'd drive over and pick them up myself but my truck can't drive on salt water.

Note: We have updated our carriage costs for all European countries for which this offer is available. If you have previously registered with our site (except for UK customers) you will need to update your 'country' in your profile to have the correct carriage costs shown.

If your carriage costs comes out at 0.00 then you either have not updated your profile or you are ordering from a country not eligible to participate in this offer.

You sure I can't get one in the US, maybe you could pull the PS to greatly lighten it for shipping.

All the EC countries (except Cyprus) are included plus Norway, Switzerland & UK Channel Isles. The rates are UPS 'Standard Delivery' rates.

You must update your home in your profile to 'Finland' to obtain the carriage costs (which unfortunately are not particularly cheap to Finland) and then log out (or close your browser) and re-log-on to the site before ordering.

Any orders received with 0.00 carriage costs will automatically be cancelled.

...so even though the total order comes to something like 70+ GBP, my card will only be charged the 12.95+ p&p (@25GBP)?

Also, please can you confirm how the A1200 motherboard is mounted in these towers? I've got one of the early Eyetech towers, where the motherboard stays in the bottom half of the A1200 case, and "hangs" at the left side of the tower - i.e. facing the motherboard mounting plate... not ideal!

Last question - does the "Small order processing charge" (13GBP) still apply??

The order is placed and ready to be confirmed once these points are clarified

Cheers!

@Chunder
that's what Im wondering too...

Code Name Quantity Price (ex VAT) Price (inc VAT)
PSU-BB-DIY 250W ATX PSU c/w free twr/A1200 conv kit 11.02 12.95
PSU-BB-DIY-ACC Accessory kit for use with PSU-BB-DIY 10.21 12.00
Carriage 17.02 20.00
Small order processing charge 11.06 13.00
2 items 49.31 57.95

Does this carriage + small order processing charge apply ?
If it does then they are hardly "FREE" now are they

@treblesix

Uh oh - I am teh st00p1d!!11 lol
I decided "to hell with it" and placed the order - just in case they ran out... but I've now realised that I ordered the wrong thing! DOH!

In order to use the tower, you need both items - the PSU-BB-DIY and the PSU-DIY-ACC... total cost 25.95GBP. Plus postage. Bum.
