Sounds good, Eyetech!

I am very happy with my uA1-c and it's good for all of us if they keep shipping.

@Eyetech

This is good news for me. I will not send my A1XE in for servicing until I have a Micro A1 to fill in while it's away. My roomate wants to mount a MicroA1 in his car. So, that's two more A1s needed for my house. :)

@DoodooHead

Your roommate doesn't by any chance attend car show. It would be cool if the µA1 became the latest must have in the modified sections.

@ Eyetech

Preferably with a fixed motherboard? That is, one whose USB and southbridge actually WORK?

I have convinced a friend of mine to buy me an AmigaOne. Yay!!!
But there's a couple of problems in her logic (not mine ):

I'm currently running Linux, so she thinks it has to have Linux on it. When I mention AmigaOS, she refutes it, probably because she knows nothing about it. As much as I have tried to educate her about the Amiga, she just doesn't understand
what I'm talking about. Because of that, she mentions Winblows.

And every time I tell her that the A1 Micro/XE/SE runs Linux rather poorly, she tells me to show her proof. I then think
"How can I show her when it's obvious, but there is such little proof to show?"

But I just can't make up my mind on whether to get the A1 Micro or XE G4. I guess it will depend on whether more XE G4s with a PROPERLY fixed motherboard (that is, cache coherency, RAM problems, et al).

But of course, that'll only happen if you decide to start producing them again, right???

Otherwise, I'll just buy the aforemented model (the A1 Micro).

What can I do to convince her oterwise? Anyone??

@PCKiller

the beat way i can see is to get a copy of amiga forever which has winuae then get the linux version of uae. load up amiga os 3.9 or any other version off the amiga forever cd and show her what it will do. and why you like it.

When Eyetech gets an order from an industrial customer and when Hyperion finishes up AmigaOS4.

I am also happy with my µA1C. That makes two of us. Scary stuff indeed.

Quoting myself from the other thread:

Quote:
That said... If Eyetech (/Hyperion) are looking for potential customer feedback: I almost for sure will buy the OS4.0 and the most powerful/complete and expandable machine available for it, even if that machine would be more expensive than the actual ones (that is, if I had to choose now between a micro-A1-C and a A1-XC, I would go for the XC).

OK, apologies. But there have been many posts claiming that we can't pay bills etc.

I wanted to emphasise that the 'finishing payment' is absolutely nothing to do with getting the boards manufactured. We have paid all we agreed to pay before the boards are delivered. The remaining amount gets paid once they are in our hands.

Ah... Okay. Fair enough, and I'm glad you added the additonal part into that. I can see now how that may have been a picnic for some to feed upon. It never crossed my mind, but now that you mentioned it, I guess it could be percieved that way. Thanks for the info Alan.

@lovely

Have you updated your firmware from March 5th yet? You must do this before you install update#3 when it comes out. I'm still trying to get up the nerve to do this myself.
