| It's a library that is used by some programs to speedup file accesses. _________________ Stephan Rupprecht - AmigaOS4 developer

| IIRC Amplifier for example, which uses it to load big MP3 files... _________________ A1SE: G3@600MHz, 2GB, 1GBit network card A1XE: G4@933MHz, 2GB, refitted AC'97 codec microA1: G3@800MHz, 1GB

| PMT! PMT!!
I'll give you PMT, here I am slaving away at home, keeping the place clean, putting your dinner on the table for you at whatever hour you decide to stroll in!
Don't give me no funny looks! you know what I mean! You and your galavanting, out with your mates all sorts of hours, coming in drunk, and smelling of cheap perfume, don't think I don't know what you're up to! You good for nothing womaniser!
I should have listened to my mother and married Bodie, but nooo I was just too stupid, let my heart get the better of my head. Well that's it, I have had enough I want a divorce!!! _________________ No cause is lost if there is but one fool left to fight for it.

| thats interessing .. because i have some problems with Amplifier on my A1200 machine (Blizzard 1230IV/Melodpro1200/OS3.9/Idefix Express.) When i am playing mp3s *and* the (normal OS3.9) blanker is running, sooner or later there is a problem with loading the next mp3-file in the playlist. Everything hangs until i press a key or move the mouse - then the next file is successfully loaded and amplifier starts playing. Without a blanker this happens, too. But one have to wait about a few days (or forever ;) ).
Could this be a bug in asyncio.library?
thanx

| Got it and installed it, version 50.1 was 44826 bytes in size whereas version 50.2 is 10660 bytes. I thought a PPC version would have had a larger binary than 68K? _________________ SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card.

All you need is the asyncio.library in the libs directory as far as I'm aware. _________________ SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card.

I removed a lot of unused code and optimized the remaining pieces Just joking...
No, the binary is stripped, it doesn't contain any debug information. That's why it's smaller than the previous version.Last edited by srupprecht on 16-Jun-2005 at 03:46 PM.

| it oughta be a stonker, with no debug code, and code optimisation !! _________________ XH558 - the worlds last flying Vulcan. ok, its actually XL426 in the picture but you know what I mean.

I doubt that. Maybe the blanker needs too much cpu time. You may try to lower the process priority of the blanker |
hm. The blanker runs with very low priority. But why should the process priority of such a small commodity cause a deadlock with a harddisk access? If i do not press keys or move the mouse for a longer period when that "Amplifier-blanker-problem" occurs then the whole system dies and i have to reboot.
I cant believe that the really low priority of a commodity causes that problem. It wouldn't be a "good" operating system if "wrong" process priorities causes deadlocks between user applications (and in the end system crashs), would it?
