Oliver Roberts released an updated version of WarpPNG. it can be downloaded from the WarpDT homepage. 68K AmigaOS, WarpOS, OS 4.0 & MorphOS versions available.

In what way is the WarpPNG datatype better then the one that came with OS4 ?

Is it faster ?

Gamma correction and alpha channel handling are configurable in WarpPNG, but not in the OS4 png.datatype. Obviously, WarpPNG tends to be based on more recent versions of libpng and zlib, by the time the OS4 png.datatype is released in an OS update.
