@d0c

It's a webcam viewer. Not a web browser.

Thanks,

It is if you go to the website and look at the downloads link.

http://www.alinea-computer.de/software/seiten/downloads_uk.php

http://www.alinea-computer.de/software/seiten/freeware_anwendungen_uk.php

It's also freeware. A nice gift I would say. But then I haven't used it. Has anyone downloaded and tried it out?

Why these freeware programs are not uploaded to OS4depot/Aminet ?

@Elwood

Probably because Alinea are a business, and wish to encourage you to visit their site. In the same way that other OS4 programs are only available on the authors site, in this case Alinea have a business to promote/grow.

Good luck to them, as long as the community benefits who cares where it is available.

This is not dissing OS4Depot in any way, just surmising why these freeware programs are only available from the company that owns/wrote the software.

@Shoe:
The big advantage is that you connect to every server, now. The first version had some problems...

You can see jp(e)g and gif pictures. If you find a cam, which does not work, then write us a mail, please.

I think the small apps like this are what is needed, if this makes sense?

If you look at what makes google sucessful and the kind of services it offers, for example google videos, this is where computer technology is going. What will google do next, a webcam search engine? Who knows, but this kind of app I think is going in the right direction.
