Hardware News   Hardware News : New A600 Memory Expansion - www.amigakit.com
   posted by amigakit on 19-Jul-2006 17:54:21 (3230 reads)
Amiga A600 memory expansions have recently been difficult to source and frequently they have been overpriced in the second hand market. With this problem in mind, we approached Individual Computers to design and build a new A600 memory expansion.

The result is A602 Memory Expansion. It is a small design with Real Time Clock and A1200 style clockport.

The unit is now in stock and available for immediate despatch worldwide.

I think it's cool that you guys did that. Are you looking to make modern replacements of other old hardware that has become overpriced, too? I don't have any specifically in mind, just thinking it's a cool that people keep putting out hardware.

Is this expansion also usable on the A1200? If not, is there a similar expansion in the works for the A1200?

I like the idea of the 1200-style compatible clockport.

Look how small that thing is compared to the A600 expansion bay. The original memory expansion could only just fit in there and didn't have the A1200 clockport interface. Nice to see a new expansion for this old machine using modern hardware.

Good news for all us A600 owners . No really, how long is it since anyone released new hardware for the A600? Must be 8-10 years now, and there's a new 030 board to look forward too .

This is great! I have ordered one of these.
I am really looking forward to the new accelerator - I think I will pop a usb card on this adapter.
My A600 is cooking!

@Amigakit
You guys are superb!

@Thread

I just got one of these from Amigakit - they are really neat!
Mine came in a professional box with good instructions.

I'm saving up for a subway for my new clockport!

Roll on more expansions!

It would be uber-cool if Individual Computers could get together with Dennis and produce the first 'proper' Amiga in a decade and a half!
The idea is so preposterous and insane it makes warped sense!
