It's sad they have to buy some other company to get some real product!

Why exactly is that sad?

Thanks Bill,

It's so nice to here announcements at the same time we actually can see some progress... not just wait and hope. The purchase of Ruksun Technologies and the Sam HW gave me hope back again. I just hope AmiWest can deliver what just have been promised...

This Italian show goes to the history... now it's just a question of which show that will be selling OS4+HW first.... that will really be a milestone.

/Xter... now indirectly a business partner with Amiga Inc since I'm working for Ericsson... cool ;)

This thread is missing something vitally important... I know!

An interesting message from Mr. McEwen. I sincerely hope everybody can play nice with each other and share the sandbox so we can buy some products sooner rather then later.

well, I have been snooping around here for a few years now and it's only in recent weeks that Amiga Inc have stirred any real interest in me. I'm not one who's into speculating and really, up until now, that is all that seems to have happened in the AmigaOS community for far to long.

Bill's words sound exciting, the acquisition of development teams is a very constructive move, the fact that Amiga Inc appear to be actively working/talking with hardware developers is fantastic.

I'm willing to put some faith in this guy, and believe me, I'm far from the optimistic type.

Good luck Bill, hopefully the stars are aligned for you this time 'round and to the sceptics out there, please, give him a chance, wish him luck and just sit-back and see what happens. I have a sneaky suspicion we could all be pleasantly surprised this time.

Nice to see Bill back in the frame - it's been to long!

His message reminds me abit of Steve Jobs' trademark key notes, upbeat and to the point. The mentions of Samantha board are encouraging.

Figures crossed its not all hot air.

It was nice to here Bill's voice, again.

It is a far better communication method then text.

@Seer

IMHO the most important things were:
- AInc is working with the Italians and Hyperion to get AOS4 running on Sam;
- Ruksun buyout.

It all sounded rather positive and factual rather than spin!

Agreed. I just have an issue with the "sounded"
Nevertheless, it's been very nice to hear words like "OS4", "Hyperion" and "Samantha" (or however he called it... can't remember now ) coming out of McEwen's mouth so firmly and positively
I really hope the ending will be much different this time around

Indeed. In the past, Amiga Inc's communiques have always been about Amiga DE, with a "yeah, yeah, OS4 is good too"; this time it was all about OS4 and the new hardware with no mention of the DE or hardware independence (which has pretty much translated to "any handheld running Windows CE" anyway). I do hope it's more than just hot air designed to keep us happy while the company goes and does something else, but thankfully AmiWest is only a month away so we shouldn't have to wait too long to see how this is panning out.

@all

Thx a lot Bill!
Let's hope this time it all works as supposed!!!
My A1X still runs, though I don't do much with it, except some internet and a lot Pagestream docs.

I'm impressed by the Samantha project and look forward to see OS4 running on it. I want one, small, loudless and fast!!!

But what's this talk about a High End Desktop PPC? Could that be a deal with BBRV? Or one UD-Tech board (Troika) or something developped by IBM?
And do Amiga Inc and Hyperion have settled their problems?
Questions over questions...

BTW IBM why did IBM ditch the PPC PDA?
I would like to expand my collection:
