| All quite interesting and displays just how much money goes through such companies. Companies that look totally unprofessional and appear to have little or no product.
Just how much is wasted in venture capital in the world on foolish ventures such as this?
Staggering.
Seem quite keen on OS4 which is surprising seeing as they couldn't actually afford to develop it themselves. The lynchpin that OS4 seem to be to them here is all well and good - but they don't seem to have any control (or indeed outside interest) over the product itself. They're not even able to actively promote or even release it.
I am still unsure as to how it is so beneficial to PDAs and the like considering its massive lack of installed user base compared to the competition at such a very late stage. _________________ Sam

This leads to the suspicion that the "almost two million dollars" invested by Itec and Tapul are actually contributed more or less by Kouri himself or his close associates. |

| Its been clear for a while that whoever bankrolled amiga had problems. Just looks like the money is running out now, and one can only guess how much longer it will be before it gets wound up. The interesting thing is the purchase of Amino shares. But I digress. This bleeding hulk of junk won't go on forever. _________________ I was a ZX Spectrum owner....

Unless I missed it I don't think it says that the venture cap firm is in trouble. Just that $2 million down the line and they're just begining to think... hang on...? _________________ Sam

My questions are, does this guy quit when the going gets though?
Or does he have the financial muscle, and does he believe he can make OS4 someones choice, when they decide what OS their cellphone/pda/set-top box/PVR/console/future thingie will run?
We´re talking about this Mr. Kouri, aren´t we?
But hey, wait! I have more questions. How much money does Amiga Inc. have after buying ADIndia? And how much did ADI cost? "What are they building in there"? When does the next episode of this soap air? _________________

| As this has been going on for about a year now, I would think most of these statements are out of date, especially considering the recent purchase of ruksun (which would have taken a considerable amount of money), which indicates a success somewhere in getting some funding.
I'm not going to comment on A. Inc's worth or product portfolio, although there were quite a few AmigaAnywhere products available in the list when I visited a while back (no interest to me but still).

Yes, most of it has, although some if it is as recent as May of this year, and some fo the info has only just surfaced or been made public now, so it's not old news to most people here.
I agree with you however that AInc.'s recent purchase of Ruskun does imply that they finally managed to get some additional fresh VC capital in the mix from some deep pockets. _________________ When swimming with sharks, make sure to bring lots of band-aids...

Not that old. Still they happened - and give us some more understanding as to what has been going on.

Not necessarily. I don't think there was any indication as to how much this cost (could have been a £1 for all we know) and there is also no indictaion as to where the funding came from (could just as easily be the VC firm).
It looks a little like AInc. islooking for a really cheap way to get some developers onboard. _________________ Sam

| What is Noids?
Google gave me this.. but I dont know if this has anything to do with it:
http://www.zib.de/vgp/nick/Noid/ ????
Also, £2million for a venture Capitalist is peanuts - they take big RISKS for maximum profit, and often expect a return within months. Things must have been sorted out.. or else I'm sure any venture capitalist worth their salt would have pulled their money out of the company to let it sink, in order to shove their cash elsewhere. It's been a wee bit longer than a few months but I must admit to having very little knowledge of multi-million dollar VC deals so I will bow down to your greater knowledge on this one.
Sorry to hear about your XBox woes. You could get a cheap one off of Ebay of course. _________________ Sam

I was going to say "chump change", but perhaps that's just an American phrase. Either way, you are spot on.

Well I wouldnt say I have greater knowledge - but a friend of mines company was induced with such funding.. the money that gets thrown around by these guys seems insane to us. But it's not as such in the pocket - its cash that exists in assets and on paper, and these bits of paper appear and disappear as they change hands at a rate of notts. My mates company does stuff with cars - designs technologies which get licenced on to manufactures.. so you can imagine that the money in this is huge - and thus the return is huge - so £2million to get such a venture going in exchange for double or more than that is a worth while deal.. but of course it can go horribly wrong, and you will lose your £2million.. but for these guys its a risk worth taking. |

if microsoft did that... well not in 3 hours time, but even in a whole year, they wouldn't be shipping those stinking abominations they do |

| I hope they've found more investment capital. 2 million is barely enough to get your business stationary printed and the lights turned on in your offices. Maybe google bought them out this time.

WHAT?! For what ? Shouldn't it be obvious to anyone by now that this company has some tricky management ? OS4 on settop boxes, PDA's and celll phones Come on! Someone should inform the court they're lying, heck there's not even cell phones around with PPC chips on them... _________________
