Software News   Software News : MPlayer Epiphany version available for download
posted by afxgroup on 7-Jan-2007 0:00:43 (5693 reads)
Another version of MPlayer is available here for download.

Read more for details....(mod note)

These are the two changes:

MPlayer 1.0rc2 for AmigaOS4 Final - Epiphany Edition
06-01-2007

* Now support the fullscreen that however must be changed in the future since it doesn't use a Screen and doesn't scale the movie correctly.

* Fixed a bug on the audio sync.

I didnt understand what you meant by this at first, but I see now. It's just a window on workbench without any window borders or titlebar. I found this out when I dragged the window down to reveal the Workbench screen. But I think this was a good idea. I wouldnt change it. You dont have to worry about using screens that might not exist.

Using a screen (and cloning the wb screen to avoid monitor resynchronization) is a much better idea imo. A borderless window covering the whole wb screen can be annoying, especially if the application crashes for some reason. :)

... Or if an application decided to pop in front of your movie while you was watching it. Or, even if it didn't pop in front but activated itselfm your MPlayer keys wouldn't work.

Thanks for the update

FuZion.

... and especially if that window covers also workbench's title bar making impossible to quickly activate WB window/desktop and use its pull down menus.
I use a lot of separate screens for several programs.

but on other OS full screen works in this way.

On other OS, you have something like alt+tab to bring other windows to front. And you may display the desktop (by using "Win+d" on Windows for example)...

Leo.

He was also a character in one of the Tin Tin comic books (The Broken Ear, I think)!

I must have been 5 years old when I watched that cartoon.

Well, if you can run WinUAE you can run MPlayer for windows, which will be much faster and have support for more codecs.
