| I really enjoyed the bit about AmigaInput in OS4. Glad to see they are making a habit of including an article like this in each issue. I wonder how familiar I'll be with OS4 by the time I actually get to run it...

| This has been the best issue of CAM yet with all sorts of exclusive news. It's nice to see that we are getting something (even if it's rather trivial) for being club members.
It's also fun to see all the uncommitted Amigans complaining about not having access to the latest news. Now where did I put my asbestos suit? _________________ ExecSG Team Lead

| I gotta agree with you Kay, the AmigaInput segment was really nice. I was completely impressed with what they have done with this, and it was great to actually see the interface for it. Very nice job, and in my opinion, the best issue yet. |

| Weren't the CAMs of old supposed to be released to the general public with a delay of two months or something? Guess I'll just have to wait two months to see this AmigaInput business ... (no, I'm not paying $50 for a one-year membership, and I'm willing to face the consequences. But the info cannot be exclusive forever, now can it?) . SlimJim |

| Like SlimJim I won't pay $50 just to get news about Amiga Inc stuff for a year.
For a lifetime subscribtion and (maybe!) a T-shirt the price might be ok, but not for a year.
Amiga should reconsider their strategy and do an offer that said no T-shirt but every # of CAM for a year for... $10. They have proven to be able to deliver CAM and might just get enough new members to pay for your t-shirts
Atleast they would be advertised better than now where it's max. 1200 members that reads CAM.
Just my take on it.. And no I'm not envious or anything, it's not like I don''t have $50 but there's NO way I will spend them on a ONE year subscription to CAM (it's more than most printed magazines!!). _________________

| @Troels:
Your point is good, but the thing is that the magazine is meant to be a "club magazine", and not an independent online mag as such. It's part of the Club Amiga concept, and I don't think they're willing to cut it loose from the club. Anyway, perhaps if we start seeing some special deals and discounts for club members (as I think they intend to set up), more people might be tempted to join.

| In a way, I understand what Troels and others are saying, but CAM is not the reason I paid $50. And the T-shirt is not the reason I paid $50. I paid it to show good faith toward a product I want to see make it to the consumers. Let's not forget that you get the coupon for $50 off of AmigaOS4 and/or AmigaOne. That's the only reason for buying it in my case. CAM is just a side benefit. |

| With what I am seeing from some, I have to take a time time out from "just reading" and make a few comments here..
CAM should be an example to all that, though it may be a small accomplishment to some, is good evidence of our will to deliver. CAM doesn't happen overnight. CAM takes a bit of work to compile, layout, edit and deliver. It isn't rocket science and it isn't my nor Amiga's most notable effort but it is a symbol of our determination to deliver 100% on time and on target where we have the wherewithal.
If only the rest of what we are trying to accomplish were this easy and limited only by the time it takes to research, develop and release the product. Unfortunately, this isn't always the case.
CAM is totally the product of Fleecy and myself with many contributors and CAM will continue to be a stable, monthly periodical.
From what I've seen, CAM means nothing to many but it does mean something to most Club Amiga members and the letters that we have received and print in tandem in the magazine are evidence of that. To those who know that some delays are beyond our control, CAM is an small gesture of our commitment to the larger picture and a very small piece of what we desire to accomplish.
Cheers,

Welcome! Always nice to have new people on board.

Hopefully, you'll find the general attitude to be a bit more constructive here.

| @HMetal Now, I wouldn't pay for a one-year membership, and I understand the life-time thing must be a one-shot deal (at the time of deadline I was 400 km from any computer, so I didn't even know of the offer until afterwards, but that's life) But the Amiga is still a curiosity. The people willing to pay $50 is still only Amiga die-hards - people that have held on to the Amiga for a decade or more. Perhaps having longer subscription periods for now would be interesting? $50 for, say, 5 years of CAMs but only two years of whatever extra benefits you have in store - at least until Amiga gets mainstream again, and us enthusiasts are overwhelmed by new users coming back . Sort of an extended membership for us still here. That I might be ready to pay for (in retroperspect I don't know if I would have taken you up on the life-time offer, had I had the chance. Probably would have. But that is moot now.). . SlimJim |

I do agree that the $50 for a years membership, at the moment seems a bit steep seeing as there is no longer the offer of the money off coupon etc. Maybe an idea would be to offer lower rates say $25 for a yearly? And $50 for a 3 year membership? It may make it seem more attractive to other users like yourselve?
But this does all depend on what offers Ainc are planning to offer to the members. As I am, hopefully, getting a $50 rebate on my copy of OS4 and lifetime membership, then overall I don't think I have really spent much money on it.
Still CAM is an interesting read, but again I think that after 2 months some of the info should be put out to the public, like the articles about the OS4 modules, Application.layer, AmiDock etc. I thought that the idea of CAM was to give club members first shot at the new developments, before sharing it with the rest of the world.
Just my 2c!

| CAM seems to me to be an unusual model for passing on information about a product that is not yet ready for sale. I will not be parting with the money as I have already had my fingers burnt with the party pack and I cannot see how this clique mentality will encourage the growth of the Amiga market.
However, I still await product with anticipation. _________________ Time to give up now I think

Ok, but what is your target goal with the Amiga club? You have only got around 1200 members, why not try to increase that number by lowering the price of the membership?
Honestly, NO internet magazine is worth an annual $50.. It's almost the same amount a printed magazine costs!
And please keep in mind that no-one (but you ) knows if there will be other benefits for joining the Amiga Club...It's not like you have delivered anything on time in the past, so please understand that people are having a very hard time paying $50 for a monthly magazine they have never seen!

| Okay, well, I must be blind or something. I don't see the magazine anywhere there after I login, just a message that says you must be a member, blah blah blah, which I am, of course. _________________ Lord Steven http://www.zcrew.org ----===============---- To Strive, To Seek, To Find, and Not to Yield

| The coupon action from AmigaInc has to be the biggest disgrace that the amiga community ever has had to face. |

| @z5:
That has to be the most exaggerated statement the world has ever had to face...
Seriously, some perspective has never hurt anyone. To say that the coupon is a "disgrace" to the community as a whole is highly debatable. To say that it is "the biggest disgrace we have ever had to face" is quite ridiculous. It sounds as if they committed mass genocide or something.
