| How does the Widescreen mode work? Is this for 16:9 monitors, or Dualhead graphic cards?

Are there Amiga branded Widescreens? Most likely not.
Anyone know which Widescreens will make the best purchase?

| I'm not personally a big fan of "wide screen" monitors. Last time I checked, they were simply 'smaller'. The monitor I have at the moment is 1280x1024 & IIRC the wide screens at the time were 1280x800. Less pixels but cost a fair packet more because they boast the "wide screen" feature. In my eyes, a money making con if ever there was.
I'd rather pay less & have more pixels & if I want to play something in wide screen, I'll define a screenmode manually.

Well obviously there are smaller and bigger monitors regardless of the aspect ratio. A comparable wide screen version of 1280x1024 (which is the "oddball" res in itself, but anyway) as far as the vertical resolution goes would be a 1680x1050, which obviously has many more pixels. Or 1440x900 for about the same amount of pixels. Both have been rather well available for the last year at least.
I had OS4 running at 1680x1050 for a while, it's pretty sweet. Just a shame that the A1 doesn't really have the oomph to run higher res video files very well :) |

| Agreed all the way. My iMac has that same resolution, 1680 x 1050.
My point was merely the overpricing of monitors that have less pixels but charge the higher price.
@Mods, Sorry for drifting OT here. |
