| Does this program allow an Amiga to write a non-standard disk image from an ADF for use on a real Amiga? For example, I have several corrupt disks, but I have ADF images of them which I use on WinUAE, however I'd like to write them to DSDD disks for use on a real Amiga. The ADF programs I've used so for won't write usable disks from ADFs like "Elite". _________________ AmigaOne X1000, A4000(T), A3000, A2000, A1200(T), A1200, A500, CD32, Minimig+ARM, FPGA Arcade, Chameleon64, C-One, C128, C128D, C64C, C64, VIC-20, CBM 8032, CBM4032, Efika, Ultimate64

| Try transdisk (comes with WinUAE). Not sure about currupt disks but don't lose anything by trying... _________________

It says that EasyADF can extract ADFs to external drives and RAD: There must be a technical issue with copying them to DF0:
If you have an external drive, then you can just extract to DF1: / DF2: etc. or if you don't have an external drive, mount RAD: then do a diskcopy RAD: DF0:
I assume that's how it works, I have the previous version of EasyADF, just written to apply for my free upgrade _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1

| There are also utilities to mess with the drive names, so you could make DF0: become DF1:
I have not used such a utility for many years, but I think it was useful when an internal drive had failed but particular games/software required DF0: _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1

| No, it can write to DF0: as well. They are listing the *new* features in the above item, so now it can write to DF1-3 and RAD as well. _________________ Playstation Network ID: xeron6

Cheers for the verification, I wasn't sure. I have only used the utility for lha extraction thus far. _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1

| Thnaks for the tips. I'd used transtisk before and that wa sthe one that failed on a few non-standard bootblock disks... unless it was a case of my 15-20 year old floppy disks are just too unreliable now. Last edited by Darrin on 29-May-2007 at 11:50 AM.

There is at least one program that allows you to mount ADF files on Workbench. It has a GUI that allows you to swap disk in virtual DF0-3 drives.
It was the only way I could install Wordworth 6 on my A1. Unfortunately the A1 is broken at the moment and I can't remember the name of the app or whether I got it from Aminet or somewhere else. |

| You're probably talking about FMS. I use it with my microA1 because the motherboard doesn't support floppy drives. There is also a utility to copy ADF files to the FMS disks, a lot like transdisk. It doesn't copy them back, though. You might be able to use transdisk for that, although I haven't tried. I recommend FMS. It's available on aminet. _________________ X5000 / microA1(OS4.1 FE U2) / CodeBench / Imagine / Blender Lightwave 2019 / Microsoft Visual C++
