I would like to get this, as my ImageFX skills are still quite vague. But I do NOT want to pay with PayPal. What are other options?

I don't understand if they are new articles rewritten for example also for os4 users or they are simply the original articles ?

Just to give a little history on this project:

Years ago I was asked to write IFX articles for a magazine and when the magazine closed (after a nice run) I didn't want the articles to be lost so I made a web site which featured them.

I was given almost complete freedom to write whatever I liked and i ended up making some fairly weird but interesting concepts with my own (and others) invented IFX scripts.

So some of this stuff is "complex" and some is easier. But, my idea is that it's easier to understand how to use IFX if you see it being used for a particular project.

I have made new articles - which only appear on this CD - and ideas often come from questions others have asked ("How do I do this_____?") And I figure if one or two people ask that question it's got to be on the minds of others.

It takes time to write an article and test the scripts so if I haven't gotten to an issue that you need an answer to it's only because I am mearly human.

Most of the scripts I've made need to be used with IFX 4.5 because it's the lastest and most bug-free. Plus, I'm just plain lazy. There's a few articles in there that were made when IFX 3 was still being used and version 4 had just come out so i made scripts for each version. But I just don't have the time to test all my scripts in every version of IFX. So I make everything for IFX 4.5

I've tried IFX 4.5 on OS4 and it seems to work fine. I don't own an Amiga One but I am a member of an Amiga group in which the lastest version of OS4 is available. If I can "steal" a few moments with the machine I'll play around more but i don't expect a problem with this software.

The only issue with installing IFX 4.5 on OS4 is that NO classes/gadget file should be installed on your system. The CD was created before OS4 publically existed (dec 2003), so when I install IFX 4.5 on OS4, I usually try to do it manually. But then I'm familiar with the program.

I've actually thought about writing something that would help with the install process, but life tends to get in the way.....

And if you don't like PayPal, email me and we'll talk.

The only problem I encountered was the text hook.

That damnable text hook...

Using it once is fine. Try it a second time...

Thankfully the old version was on Nova's download site.

Easiest is to just back up the classes directory to another spot then restore it afterward. If I'd only known that back then.

well, The newest version of the text hook (which I think is #3, but that's without looking it up) is not the one that is noramlly installed from the CD install script.

You actually have to find it in the extras 'something' on the CD. I'll come back here and post an exact location.
The text hook and the newest Png loaders/savers have to be installed manually. And, yes, they work fine.

Some of the issues that the text hook has is related to not having enough memory and every Peg and A1 has plenty of that.

Edit: the new text hook looks to be version 4.6

Cecelia: Loooooooong overdue! About time all your scripts were collated together and available. Will get this as soon as my backup UAE setup arrives from the UK (moved to Spain 3 weeks ago)
All: Cecelia is long time IFX guru/beta tester and has provided me and others with help and advice on countless occasions.

I agree, jd997. I've been dealing with a health issue and now that I'm doing better I wanted to get this project back on track.

Thanks for the kind words.

@cecilia

Hi there, I was one of the guys that harassed you at the last 2 AmiWest shows you attended. Wish you were still around to attend this year, but I know thats not possable. As syrtran said, the text hook is borked & GRs on a second attempt. I ended up taking the text hook off the IFX v3 release (v3.1.302) & no more GRs. The thing that irritated me the most about Nova was the fact that they made us pay for bug fixes. The studio CD had some updated files, but were never offered to existing users.
A soon as I post this, I'll be off to PayPal to order your CD.

Well, I'd love to come to AmiWest and get harassed, but things have been very difficult these last years.

But i keep a positive attitude, as always.

I beta-tested the newest text hook on my then-still working 2000, my WinUAE and my Peg. And it worked ok. But I understand that with the many variations out there things can't always be anticipated.

Ah, well

I better get to work burning more CD's
