What on earth is "EDT", and how do you use it to get GMT?

FYI, EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) is 4 hours behind UTC. EST (Eastern Standard Time) is 5 hours behind.

Look as I might I cannot find a link to a mirror from which to download, and the main link only gets a few kb per secton and bombs out. I remember I had difficulty downloading the last ART episode too - could I suggest a rework of the web page to make it more obvious?

OK.. I can explain again why I post EDT/EST instead of GMT. I live in EDT/EST. I know what time it is here. Right now we're in Daylight savings time. Last few times I tried to post GMT/UTC everyone, including me, got it all wonkied up. So I vowed to only post times in the timezone I know. But if you must know the difference between GMT/UTC and EDT/EST, then use the link below.

What Time is it in New York?

I gave up trying to figure things like this out. When we switch to Stardates, lemme know.

@Hitman
The mirror

The link up above doesn't work?

NOTICE: 5pm EDT the final stream of Amiga Roundtable #12

Darth_X:

Thanks for the kind words. We were thinking of maybe doing some shows that are more topical-possibly without a guest once in awhile. Say - case moding, Demo scene, mod music, retro/classic only,etc. Would this be of interest??? Listener input is valuable right now, to make a better show.

Thanks,
Sean

I think the primary thing is to offer something different to that which appears on AW in general. In this way, users will learn to tune in to get information unobtainable elsewhere.
In that respect, I believe the interviews meet that criteria.
Although admirable to quote what is contained in AW "news" posts and give the developers well deserved credit, I think if you do much of that, you should try to get additional info from the developer not already contained in the "news" post. Same principal. Get them accustomed to associating YOU guys with things not available elsewhere.

Just my 2 cents.

I couldn't agree more. We have a pretty solid listener base for sure - it shocks us all- every time a new show is put out... What we try to do with the news segments is try and give our take on the items, but point WELL taken.

That is why a different shift in content and format I think will be a nice change. And by gosh - if someone has an announcement to make - uh... throw us a bone!

Thanks, we want to hear more feedback - please! :)

I, too, would be interested to discover what the community would like to hear.

But I think you also have to define your potential audience either before, or after you get some more input.

Example:If you do shows that cover the community, should you therefore attempt to advertise them on all community websites? In the most recent ART#12, for example I don't see any ad on morphzone, where some people might have enjoyed hearing your interview.
Also, do you know the timetable site-by-site for news "approval" and whom to contact to make sure the ads appear at approximately the same time, giving you a fair chance to gain an audience?

In short, I'm asking you more about laying the groundwork for a more rewarding operation, which goes beyond the general request for "topical" input you request here.

More good points. I think I can speak for all involved, the show is going great, and we are having fun with it - that is the primary objective period. You bring to mind a glaring issue and that is the lack of Morphzone, and AROS-Exec for that matter, announcements - duly noted, and shame on us for that. Honestly it has most to due with the fact that not a sole in the group are MOS users, fans, but not users - but like I said, shame on us for that one. In fact we are/were thinking of holding back on making announcement of the show every week - for fear of being annoying. :)

Anyhow its fun to do the show and hopefully we are providing something of interest to the community. In the course of things perhaps we haven't stepped back and look at it in that light - thanks again for your feedback.

@Debaser

DiscreetFX has a Pegasus II running MorphOS for development purposes. We also have almost every other operating system that is worth a damn (OS 4.0, Linux, OS X, Solaris etc.).

I mostly agree with number6. Interviews with active developers are useful.

I would suggest also making it available broken up into shorter segments, as well as the 'full version.' It's tough for me, and I expect others, to listen to a 45-60 minute MP3 at one sitting..

Any chance you can bring that to Amiwest? Would be nice to see morphOS in action along with the A1s. Seems morphOS users don't want to play with us.

DiscreetFX has two SGI O2's and an Octane running Irix. Spontanous Combustion was developed in part on SGI.

@sundown

Last time we took our PegII running MorphOS to a show (NAB 2005) it fell down a flight of steps @ the airport.

It still worked after that adventure though.

:)

yeah, i couldnt agree more! cut the whole show into 2-3 pieces (after the breaks, commercials) will be great!
for example, i always listen the show riding on my bike, and when i stop, then start riding again i had to forward the show to the last part i've heard. its hard and slow to find the right part of a 40-50 min. mp3 with an mp3 player:)

anyway, its a good show i've enjoyed it a lot!

Well, what I can do is, release it in it's individual segments and the whole show. But this is going to mean a little omre work for me since I want to keep the bumpers in the show. This is because at some point in the near future, I want to start looking for advertisers for the show to help out with things like a server with MORE bandwidth. The current BW issue is just insane and I plan on addressing it after I get home from AmiWest.

Let me goof with the format so it still sounds good and I can break it up. Because I would hate to have an ad in the news segment and no one download it because all they want is the interview. Sometimes I think the best stuff is in the news segment when we go off on something or a tangent just happens to shoot out.
