Software News   Software News : PowerPC Wrapper available
   posted by GuruMeditation on 29-Mar-2008 22:37:27 (7541 reads)
We are pleased to announce that as of today, you can download the WarpOS wrapper library from aminet and os4depot. The library has been updated to work on the very latest AmigaOS 4 and will enable you to run WarpOS applications and play WarpOS games.

This library will open up a range of games, scene demos and applications, however, if it uses Warp3D you may have to use software 3D renderer, which should work fine on an AmigaOne. This is due to how the software was written - if it was written in a correct and system-friendly way, it should work just fine.

Great!

I'm glad to see that WarpOS support is back.

Just noticed that the Guru Meditation logo pops up before the Wipeout demo loads.
The Wipeout demo does DSI before the title screen loads, but seems to work fine after that.

@beta testers

In the powerpc.library.guide I notice a section for "unknown" results in relation to FroggerNG.
powerpc.library 16.39 (03/16/2008) under Final with July, 2007 update is actually working better than powerpc.library 16.34 (07/31/2005) under update #3.
For audio output AHI refused to lock and forced the need to use ADEV under 16.34.
Now audio output under AHI functions without error.
Congrats.

May I ask what the "failure" reports for FroggerNG were related to?

Aha! I can stop complaining again about things missing or being removed! I was advocating this for a long time, WarpUP that is. Now, time to continue my tradition when ever a new WarpUP layer appears, I wonder if iFusion works!

It was removed. I guess it's the only way. I wonder if SYS:Tools will be uploaded next, I miss that drawer...

Not me, I moved that drawer to my work partition. Now that we're down to the Utilities & System drawers, I still have trouble remembering which one to open for the app that I want. We need to get rid of one more.

Never expected to see this! Good news, particularly for Earth 2140, Payback and Wipeout 2097 (though I have actually yet to try these...).

Very good news! But I did not understand whether Warp3D will work with some apps or none?
