Software News   Software News : Amiga Black Belt System Software Free for Download including Image Master
posted by Raffaele on 5-Jun-2008 14:12:36 (3788 reads)
Amiga.org reports that Ben Williams creator of Black Belt System Software and author of Amiga masterpiece productivity Image Master R/T was so kind as to make all of his Amiga Software freely downloadable.

Quote:

Ben Williams, the author of all Black Belt Systems software has graciously made all his Amiga Software available to download to the Amiga community.

This includes:

ImageMaster R/t ver. 1.60 + 3rd party Plug-in Modules
ApAssist
AVT (Amiga Video Terminal for use w/AEA's AVT H/W) ver. 5.50
Board Master ver. 1.19 (PCB S/W)
Digital Soup (Evolutionary Artificial Life)
JakeBoard (S/W for the Physically Challenged)
TalkBoard (S/W for the Physically Challenged)

The link for all this is:
http://www.datapipe-blackbeltsystems.com/amiga.html

You'll note that Ben is offering (under the ImageMaster section on this page) the Windows version of his ImageMaster successor, WinImages, at a very special & affordable price of US$29.95 (D/L only @ this price!) I hope there are a few people out there that will purchase it.

I saw ImageMaster in action and I remember it was TERRIFIC software...

I hope that some Amiga Community could realize a bounty and reward Ben Williams or perhaps some important Amiga related firms such as ACube or DiscreetFX could donate enough money to Williams and make him free the sourcecode of this beautiful program...

-----

I never heard of Board Master... Is this a PCB layout CAD? Does it support enough layers and modern components?

(Now that I know it exists, I will insert it in Amiga Productivity Software article of Wikipedia.)

Maybe with this PCB design software enough skilled people could create the Amiga mainboard of tomorrow...

I don´t know the others but if I remember well Image Master was an incredible program in those years.

Anyway, this is great news, time to try it

3 Video tape set of demos/instructions was available at the time.
An excellent idea that made the package even more professional, imo.

Although I bought Imagemaster R/t when it was out, I downloaded the ADF files as a back-up.

I also want to buy that WinImages version, because it still works in much the same way and has all of those cool features that I loved about IM (and the price can't be beat). Colourizing in IM is way easier for me than Photoshop, which I also use. IM was way ahead of it's time.

I had Imagemaster and AD Pro! Both were great programs.. Sigh!

I can't remember what I paid for Imagemaster but for some reason $125 US comes to mind. Dunno if that has any basis in reality though.

Sounds right BobC, I paid around $125 for it in Jan 1994.

I don't recall exactly what I paid, but it was a lot less than $125 US. It's worth the money for sure. Excellent features.
