@Kicko

Could be a stack issue. This game is pretty demanding.

I looked at the crashlog and it's definitely a stack overflow. According to Grim Reaper the stack size was only about 20 KB (not nearly enough stack for Wesnoth). Also the guard region in front of the stack had been damaged (evidence of stack overflow).

I'm just uploading a new version of Wesnoth 1.4.5 which includes a "stack cookie" inside the executable so you can't run it with a too small stack as well as support for some more screenmodes (I just got a widescreen monitor).

Battle for Wesnoth definitely has gotten a lot of faster since 1.3.x in my opinion. I remember having problems with speed with 1280x1024 before but now I can play in 1680x1050 without any speed problems.

@salass

I remember the "good old days" of Wesnoth, the early versions, where playing any level was e x t r e m e l y slow. A single CPU turn lasted for half an hour!

On MorphOS, the port (maintained by Fab as far as I remember) supports locale.

On OS4, Wesnoth never has and every time I ask the question about it, it is eluded.

The first port that I did (dunno if I ever released it) supported language selection AFAIR.

@Rogue

Did you have to make any changes or use any special configure options to make it work?

For me the setlocale() function is always failing. Is this just a dummy function with AmigaOS/newlib or does it use some special format for the 2nd parameter?
