| Slight correction. Where the news item says ffmpegGUI v1.2 it should read ffmpegGUI v2.1. Sorry for the typo. _________________ Kevin - X1000 First Contact / A1222+

Yep, and more. Do an ffmpeg -formats in a shell to see all the supported formats and codecs. The list is long! A 'D' next to the format indicates that format can be decoded. An 'E' next to the format means it can be encoded.
To encode in an xvid or divx format, set the video codec to mpeg4, then in the "additional options" field type '-vtag DIVX' without the quotes. Don't forget to press enter. This sets the tag so the player knows how to decode the video.Last edited by ktadd on 04-Feb-2009 at 09:26 PM.

I guess it is corrected, but I could only find one typo.

Well, it's not listed as a supported container format in the output of the ffmpeg -formats command but the best way to find out is to try it.
So, I loaded and input file, set the Output Format to "Use File Ext" added a .mkv to the output file name. To my suprise it encoded the video just fine and MPlayer was able to play it back without an trouble. It appears the audio equivelant, .mka, is supported as well. By default it encodes the video in Mpeg4 and audio in mp2 but it is a very flexible container format and can accept most audio and video codecs. Give it a try and see. If all goes well, let me know and I'll them as supported formats from ffmpegGUI. _________________ Kevin - X1000 First Contact / A1222+

| So has anyone really had no problems with this? I wanted to try the new version so stupid as I did overwrote my old version. Now it doesn't work! FFMpegGUI is broken on my system.
It keeps saying "Error: libraries did not open properly!" Well that's a start but which one?! A little more info please!
So I Snoopyed it and found it was looking for a textfield.gadget. Well, where is this gadget? It's not on my system. It's not on OS4 Depot. Aminet? It's not on my OS4.1 CD so why don't have have it? What is going on here?? |
