| No ... most people doesn't know much about the Sinclair QL, it was the first home- / personalcomputer with preemptive multitasking. It had an 68008 CPU but it was a flop ( more or less ) _________________ AmigaONE. Haha. Just because you can put label on it does not make it Amiga.
I borrowed this comments from here (#27 & #28): http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=38873&forum=2&start=20&order=0

| With a few more colours, better sound and a disk drive instead of those silly little micro drives it could have been a good machine. Sinclair should have aimed it as a spectrum replacement. |

| I owned a QL before I had enough money to buy an Amiga 500. Although the QL wasn´t a commercial success, it was the first "home"-computer with a 68k-CPU and preemptive multitasking (QDos). The QL has also a really cool inbuilt network (you can connect up to 64 QLs, no additional software needed) and a great Basic on ROM (SuperBasic).
And there is still a very active community with traders, commercial software and a magazine (QLtoday).
I will be on the show and present AmigaOS4.1 to the crowd. So every Amiga-User is welcomed Last edited by AP on 04-Oct-2009 at 11:48 AM.

| @wawa: Yes, the codename for the computer was "LOKI". The plan was to build a Sinclair Spectrum successor with custom-chips and with Amiga-like graphic-ability. But after Amstrad bought Sinclair they quit the project (as well as the Sinclair QL). _________________ AmigaOne X5000/40, 2.2 Ghz, 4 GB RAM, Radeon R9 280X, M-Audio Revolution 5.1, 240 GB SSD
