Software News   Software News : New software updates by OnyxSoft
   posted by Deniil715 on 28-Oct-2009 14:58:30 (4060 reads)
OnyxSoft releases four updates of software!

Annotate, WiiLoader, GummiSurf and ZoomIT

Updated programs
Annotate v2.6.4 - (OS3,OS4,MOS) A very comprehensive text editor with a lot of functions.
Ported to AmigaOS 3.x and MorphOS! Added a Find next change/Find previous change function to the Search menu. Fixed copying of a line to the find or replace field with a vertical selection. And other minor fixing..

WiiLoader v1.2 - (MOS,OS4) WiiLoader is a utility to load .DOL and .ELF-files over network to the Homebrew Channel.
Now works with HBC 1.05 and later. AppIcon / AppWindow functionality (drag'n'dropable). Made the program singletasking to be able to "wake it" if iconified by start it twice. New icons made by Martin 'Mason' Merz added.

GummiSurf v1.4 - (MOS,OS4) GummiSurf is a companion tool for the download managers like Charon, and built-in managers in IBrowse, Voyager and AWeb.
Added AmigaOS3 binaries. Support for OWB (MorphOS) and NetSurf (OS4). Changed the default URL to a working one =)

ZoomIT v1.1 - (MOS,AROS,OS3,OS4) Magnifying glass program using MUI.
Fixed the borderless window function. Now includes locale support (and a swedish catalog). Added Crosshair option. Added Mouse coordinate and RGB-Value options. Borderless windows are now also draggable by simply pressing anywhere on them.

If you know a bug or have a suggestion, please don't hesitate to drop us an e-mail

@Deniil715

I test today Annotate on my os4.1, and have some questions:

It is possible to configure Annotate, to have scroll bar on right side, but not on left one ?

Also suggestion: when you choice "put ascii code", imho, you need to bring full ascii code window, where user can choice which symbol he want, and which ascii number that symbol have. Like in old DOS-Navigator for ms-dos.

Also for me "vertical block marker" works a bit strange. I.e. when i mark somethink, it's "jumping" from the left to right side.

No, sorry. But you'll get used to it, especially when you start realizing how useful this scrollbar is: It shows where in the file a current selection is. It shows where the cursor is. It shows where you last had your cursor (to quickly get back if you needed to scroll away and copy something), and it shows scroll stores.

Yea, that could be useful. I'll put it on todo.

Since it is not possible to put the cursor or any marking outside the end of lines, this is how it works when you drag your mouse and the cursor jumps between shorter and longer lines.

That good, but it's related to cursor itself. I am just about adding some possiblity to configure to show that scroll bar on the right are of window, not on the left (to give users more ways to configure programm for their needs). I just always use editors where scrollbar on the right side, so it's a bit un-standard for some of us :)

Hm.. but how all other programms (for example Golded) and so on, can do vertical block marking, without these "jumping-bugs-looks" thinks ?:) Maybe i not so clear say what i mean about "jumping" : I mean that when you do vertical block marking, it's just looks like "visual bugs" some time. Like you press button, move mouse by the text to the left area, but that "blue marked area" jump from time to time just to other side. I can make a videol which will explain what i mean... If you need it of course :)

@Templario

You don't want to know...

@kas1e

Are you implementing a feature now??
Please test it well and send the changed files before release then so I can merge it with the rest of the program.

GoldED can place the cursor beyond the end of line (where there is no text and logically cannot be a cursor). I strongly dislike that behaviour (and really don't want to see anyone put it into Ann ), but it does prevent block marking from jumping.

On the other hand, block marking does not make much sense outside lines. If you want to copy a block, you typically want a block, not a couple of lines with different length, right?
