Winter Solstice Sale
40% off normal pricing until 1 January 2010.

Apologies to those in the southern hemisphere where of course it will be their Summer Solstice !

The Digital Universe 1.6+ is available at a reduced price of 40% off the normal price. The offer will end Mid-day 12:00 UT on 1st January.

See

The Solstice Offer Page for more details and to order. Do not use the usual ordering page - unless you really want to pay the normal but higher prices !

The version 1.7 update shsould be available sometime in the new year - hoping my beta tester gets his A1 fixed !

Also watch out for
3D Stars which should be available on OS4 Depot and Aminet soon.

Spot the not so deliberate mistake ?

"25% off normal pricing until 22nd June 2009."

Should actually read:
"40% off normal pricing until 1st January 2010."

Even in the days of Norwegian time portals, I think June 2009 has already been and gone

Plus the discount is 40% and not a mere 25%.

Could a moderator please correct this ?

Bill.

At least wait until he has got it !

His CD will not be posted until later today, you can't post anything in the UK on a Sunday.

Maybe it's too early for amije to answer that question, but I think that DU is a fantastic product!

When its done.

Actually I had hoped to have v1.7 out by now, but in the Amiga world software development never quite goes to plan. I am using the extra time to add a few more features

@all

Thanks for the nice comments.

To be honest I think DU1.6 is pretty rubbish - but then I am using a 90%+ version of DU1.7 :o)

I would also like to point out that though I have hijacked (with permission) the project and have done a lot to make the most of it and using the Amiga's features such as arexx, the real thanks should go to the original author, I could never have started off a project of this size by myself.

Dan Charrois is the real brains behind DU even though he left the Amiga platform for the Mac (not Windows) a while ago. So if anyone wnats to say something nice about DU send Dan a mesage at dan at syz dot com

He is the one who deserves the credit far more than me.

I may be updating it but without the original I would not have known where to start.

That is exactly what I meant

Being able to use fairly complex Arexx scripts to automate a lot of things is one of the major updates. V1.6 did not have enough of a command set to start using Arexx properly, 1.7 is well on the way to having comprehensive Arexx support.

Finding objects is so much nicer too, to find a planet I just type a couple of characters of the name, and I get a bit frustrated when using v1.6 and find that doing that doesn't work yet and I have to move the mouse around and click on the planet's name

When its done, hopefully before Easter though.
